Overview

  • Step into the shadows of old Padstow for an atmospheric evening of ghost stories, hidden alleys, local legends and mysterious happenings.

Led by Regency-era merchant Thomas Rawlings, your lantern-carrying guide from Padstow’s past, the walk combines storytelling, history, humour and atmospheric music through some of the town’s lesser-known streets and passageways.

Hear strange tales from old houses and inns, local folklore and more recent encounters that aren't quite so easily explained. Visit a 16th-century coaching inn, medieval St Petroc’s Church and the edge of the historic Prideaux estate.

Maximum 25 people. Well-behaved dogs welcome.

Parental guidance advised for under-10s due to references to death and historical punishments.

There is a short 75m uphill section. Wheelchair and mobility scooter users are welcome, although manual wheelchair users may need assistance.

Duration: approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
