Description

Witness the colors of the Grand Canyon shift and transform in the light of the setting sun. Spend the afternoon traveling through beautiful ponderosa pine forest, passing views of ancient volcanoes and sprawling desert scenery before arriving at the national park for a light show of the ages.

Depart from Flagstaff, admiring the elegant light filtering through the ponderosa pines. Emerge into clearings and get views of the San Francisco Peaks—dormant volcanoes—and the Navajo Reservation's Painted Desert.

Stop at the historic Cameron Trading Post. Dating back to 1916, this establishment houses a selection of arts and crafts from Southwestern Native American tribes. It's also the perfect place to enjoy a view of the Little Colorado River Gorge.

Arrive at the Grand Canyon National Park to begin the real show. Stop at several overlooks to enjoy views of the canyon under the changing light. Arrive at Grand Canyon Village and sit down for a delicious dinner at the historic Bright Angel Lodge. After dinner, walk with your guide along the rim to visit 2 viewpoints that show off the dramatic sunset colors. Peer across a 14 mile (22.5 km) chasm to the North Rim. As you watch the sun sink slowly on the horizon, create memories to last a lifetime.

The Sunset Grand Canyon Tour was everything our family hoped it would be (with the exception of too many clouds so we couldn't actually see the sunset) and we would highly recommend it! We were picked up at our hotel in Flagstaff at 12:30 p.m. and returned at 10:30 p.m. Very convenient and easy! Our tour guide, Kevin, was a wealth of knowledge and kept us informed and entertained the entire 10 hours! There were 12 people in our group and Kevin spoke to each of us by name, engaging us all along the way and gearing his commentary to each of our interests. He brought us to the most beautiful sites for photo opportunities and brought his telescope along to show us things miles away. It was truly a fabulous tour, creating memories our family will cherish forever!

Our tour guide. Lynn was awesome - not only was she very knowledgeable and quite helpful to everyone, in addition she was delightfully funny and very helpful to those who needed assistance. The ground coverage on the tour was insane with so much packed in to the day - When our dinner was cancelled at Bright Angel Restaurant in the National Park due to the lights off in the entire park, Lynn had us back at Cameron Trading Post within an hour for a wonderful meal (The beef stew here is amazing and is served with "fried bread" something I've never had before - it's delicious plain or with the powdered sugar and cinnamon that accompanies it. I would take this trip again in a heartbeat - beautiful scenery, great relaxing rides and the price is a great value !! Shopping time at Cameron Trading Post was also a plus and they have great sandwiches for lunch as reasonable prices.

I can't say enough great things about this tour - we saw so much and had so much fun. Our tour guide Lynn was incredible - she was extremely kind and funny as well as possessed great knowledge on so much even including the types of trees in Arizona and The Grand Canyon National Park !! Dinner was delayed a bit to no fault of the tour - the lights were out in the park so no one there was open for dinner - that led us back to Cameron Trading Post where we had been earlier that day - I thought the food there was incredible and so much variety in the shopping! The sunset tour is by far the most beautiful way to see the canyon - the colors for about an hour or so are continually changing and very vivid (We were there on March 19th so a bit chilly, but not freezing.
