What you can expect
Check out the Peloponnese with a tour to the major sites of the peninsula, from ancient Mycenae to the Corinth Canal. This outing lets you explore the legacy of one of Greece's first great centers of culture, with visits to settlements that date back through more than 4,000 years of history.
Once you meet your guide, decide your course for the day and learn about some of the most influential ancestors behind the ancient Greeks. Visit the archaeological site of Mycenae, seat of the king who led the legendary invasion of Troy, and admire the massive Cyclopean walls—so named because later Greeks thought only a Cyclops could have moved such huge rocks into place.
Your journey also takes you to the ruins of Epidaurus, home to a famous ancient theater, built in the 4th century BC, whose outstanding acoustics are still famous today. A step forward in history brings you to Nafplio and the fortress of Palamidi, built in the 18th century under Venetian rule. The last leg of your ride takes you across the Corinth Canal on your way back towards Athens.
