Description

Skip the restaurants offering Westernized dishes and visit 4 famous stalls frequented only by the locals. Follow your guide down alleys to hard-to-find hotspots and savor delicious samosas, momos, panipuri, and lassi to get a real sense of authentic local food.

Although some restaurants advertise traditional Nepali food and offer Westernized versions, try authentic street food at bustling stalls loved by locals. Start the tasting tour at the samosa shop and follow your guide through the crazy streets of Kathmandu toward a local favorite haunt, New Road, passing a number of temples nestled along the alleys.

Have an aloo paratha (potato pancake), try special momos you won't have eaten anywhere else, and discover why once you taste authentic street food, you never want to go back. End your course with the famous lassi, said to be the best in Nepal. At this busy spot, your guide helps you grab a sample before they’re gone—it's that good.

The guide was friendly, talkative, and knowledgeable. She took us to a bunch of hole-in-the-wall type of places, and the food was fantastic! Highly recommend this.

I ate local items I would never have experienced on my own. Namrata and Sandip, our guides, were very sweet, friendly and knowledgeable.
