Historically the safest place to cross the Colorado River, all South-Western roads once led to Yuma. With nearly non-stop sunshine, this welcoming slice of America's yesterday is still attracting visitors by the thousands, and for good reason. As one of the richest desert landscapes on earth, Yuma has it all; sun, sand and saddles.
For history buffs, there are three must-stop attractions in Yuma; Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park, Castle Dome Mines Museum, and the Yuma Crossing State Historic Park, if you want to learn more about the region. For the true-blue South-Western fan, Casa De Coronado Museum is by appointment only, so book in advance!
When you fly to Marine Corps Air Station Yuma/Yuma International Airport (YUM), you'll notice it's a joint civilian/military airport. Take care to follow signage carefully, as civilians are not permitted in all areas. Parking is an $8.00 USD maximum per day and four car rental agencies are available on site. Bus service is located on Green Route 4, serviced by YCAT.
You can enjoy some great nightlife at the Kress Ultra Lounge, or stop in for Mediterranean at the River City Grill. If sweet if your thing, try Donut Corral!
