Passengers fly to E. T. Joshua Airport (SVD) on their way to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, a southern Caribbean country composed of 32 islands, including the big island of St. Vincent.
The Tobago Cays, an archipelago of five uninhabited islands, are St. Vincent and the Grenadines' top attraction. These cays form part of Tobago Cays Marine Park, a national wildlife preserve and national park run by the government.
Peaceful and popular Lower Bay Beach offers tranquil, turquoise waters and nearby bars. If you can tear yourself away from the beach, La Soufriere Volcano has a trail for climbing.
The festival season kicks off in January with a music festival in Bequia and a blues festival in Mustique. Springtime is regatta time while August brings the Breadfruit festival.
The climate varies slightly from one island to another. The dryer months on St. Vincent occur between January and May; July is the wettest month. The average daily high temperature is 86 degrees Fahrenheit while nightly lows average 74 degrees.
The smaller, southern islands are slightly warmer and dryer than the big island of St. Vincent. The Vigie Highway takes you to SVD for your flight home.
