Once in Kuala Lumpur, you'll want to see its most famous sight; the Petronas Twin Towers. They lie in the Golden Triangle district, which also houses most of the luxury hotels and upscale shopping malls. For a more authentic flavor of Kuala Lumpur, however, explore the nearby Tuanku Abdul Rahman traditional shopping district, and the Malay enclave of Kampung Baru.

Getting around
Flights into Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) are plentiful, but making the 30 mile transfer to the city itself may take some time. The best option is a KLIA express train, which takes under 30 minutes. A bus journey will take a minimum of one hour, but often more if there is congestion. Taxis can take even longer, and will likely be more expensive.

Don't miss out the northern suburbs of the city. Here you'll find the famous Batu Caves temple complex, as well as the National Zoo and the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia, which offers a canopy treetop walk with some incredible views.
