If you're traveling to Indiana's third largest city, Evansville, on business, flying into Evansville Regional Airport (EVV) is the ideal way to arrive. The airport is small enough to negotiate without fuss, yet it has all the facilities you might need including free Wi-Fi. There's plenty to do in the city though, so consider staying a day or two if you can.
Evansville sits on a bend in the Ohio River, 110 miles west of Louisville KY, and 165 miles east of St Louis MO on the I64. The Hoosier National Forest is half an hour by road, while the Shawnee National Forest lies roughly the same distance to the south-west.
The city's attractions include the excellent Mesker Park Zoo, where you'll find Amazonia, an enclosed replica of the rainforest. History fans will enjoy a visit to LST 325, a D-Day ship that's the last of its kind; these WW2-winning vessels were built in Evansville.
Evansville is also home to a number of good museums and galleries, including the Arts, History & Science Museum on SE Riverside Drive; the museum's Immersive Theatre, for example, has amazing planetarium shows several times a week on the huge domed screen.
