Ivy cottage is a barn conversion, newly restored for 2012 situated on a working farm near the village of Kexby. Original features combined with contemporary touches ensure a comfortable and homely stay.

The cottage has a large private rear garden with picnic/BBQ area overlooking open countryside and woodland with a large car parking area which is solely for the use of residents.

There is a wealth of things to do in the area, York city centre is only 5 miles away and its famous 'park and ride' is only a five minute drive taking you to York's many wonderful visitor attractions such as York minster, Yorvik Viking Centre, the Shambles, Castle Museum, Clifford's Tower, National Railway Museum etc. Ivy cottage is ideally situated for touring the east coast, North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Pickering, the Yorkshire Dales, Elvington Air Museum, Harrogate and Leeds.

Lovely location, lots of places to visit, park & ride just a few minutes away and a 12 min ride to city centre. Property has all the amenities, including a laundry room. Very clean and smell as you walk in is fresh and citrus, just sofas a little tired and although beds comfortable look is a little old fashioned. Constant hot water, with choice of walk in power shower and bath. Would definitely isit again.

Fabulous place to stay, from easy booking to the facilities & room layout which was perfect for what we needed The kitchen was well equipped, rooms decorated to a high standard & very clean The farm is within a short drive to a pub for an evening meals or shops (we had a supermarket delivery on the evening we arrived which worked out very conveniently). A lovely Barn located just 10 minute short drive from the Park and Ride taking you directly into York city centre. Brilliant location for exploring the loval area. The Barn was lovely, clean and welcoming with everything needed. It really was home from home and exceeded expectations.The oweners provided a lovely welcome pack which was gratefully received. This was a treasure to find and we will definitely come back again.

The property fulfilled our family's needs. Private, quiet and plenty of parking. Although we were on a farm there were no farm smells, only the cattle mooing in the morning, but did not disturbed. The open aspect to the rear of the property gave us views over the fields. The location was perfect for the park and ride into York and the shopping outlet on the A19. The property its self was well equipped, clean, good showers and spacious. Would be confident to recommend to friends and family.

Lovely location. Lovely cottage / barn conversion perfect for what we needed for our 3 night stay. Not technically a 3 bedroom. The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds and has a mezzanine level which has a double bed. Fine for families sharing and was perfect for us but probably not ideal for 3 couples. Cottage is well equipped and was very clean. Would definitely recommend!!

The barn would be ideal for a small family or, in our case, a couple for a two-week stay. The owner was flexible enough to allow midweek to midweek. Our stay was 2nd and third week of June Location is ideal for access to park &ride to York, and a stone's throw from the A64 with access to major arterial roads. Take the back roads to the Wolds and Moors for best scenery. Use a map if you have one or be prepared to frequently redirect gps

I love the barn

Spacious and clean. The upstairs bed with its spiral staircase was the perfect spot for my teanage daughter to hide out. Thanks the complimentary bottles of wine! The well equiped kitchen came in handy for cooking dinner on our stay in nights. How about adding a clothes washing machine and dryer.
