Nice hotel close to airport

Used the hotel for a rest between travels - 4 hours. Good breakfast and big room with effective air con. No lift so a few stairs. Very helpful staff.

Decent hotel to stay, friendly staff

The staff are very friendly, it's very close (15 mins ride) to the bus station where most buses to other cities depart. The room was big and clean, it's a decent place for the price. As there wasn't a lift in the building, the staff helped us carry our bags to the 5th floor. Those with heavy luggages might want to get rooms on the lower floors.

Nice and helpful staff

Our flight landed at midnight and we had no problem checking in. The room was big and had a great view over the city. You can easily go to city center via the local train, which is an interesting ride by itself with the locals and gives a feel of the city. The staff was incredibly helpful and spoke good English.

Surpassed expectations

Apart from the fact we have to climb up 3 flights of stairs to our rooms, my friend and I enjoyed our hotel stay. Rooms are clean. Food served in the little cafe is tasty. Staff are attentive and friendly. Owner's daughter (this is a family-owned hotel) who attended to us a couple of times is gracious and accommodating. We will be back!

Great hotel

Great stay at High Five, got welcomed with open arms, damp towels to mop our brows from a whole day of travel and orange juice to get us set for bed! Staff were all very friendly, room was very good with hot shower and English channels on the tv! Breakfast was very good, all you can eat so definitely get your money's worth! Would recommend!

Good service and good food

We spend 2 nights at this small privatly owned hotel. It is a 10 minutes drive by taxi to the airport or the central busstation. We arrived late by bus, spend one day in Yangon downtown, and had an early fligth the next morning. We could easily find the circulair train to town, because one of the staff guided us to the station. Everything was well organized; they had arranged a taxi at 3:50 so we arrived well on time at the airport. They provide excellent meals for guests only, and a breakfast buffet. On request they make a real continental breakfast. Rooms are spacious, if you wish you can have the meal at your room. Good atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Our stay was ok. The check in staff was great. The check out staff was rude. The young woman working was upset when I came down for breakfast 20 minutes before the end time, because we had a really late flight in the night before. She acted annoyed that she would have to ensure there was still food available. The room was worn, but clean. It had a very strong smell of smoke. Water in the shower was cold. Nice for a quick night stay after a long flight.

Decent hotel for early flights

The hotel is close to the airport, which was what we were looking for but wouldn't necessarily recommend due to the pack of dogs that bark through the night and the hard pillows that didn't allow me to sleep well. If you are a hard sleeper, you'll probably be okay. The bed was comfortable and large, the staff was helpful, wifi was good, and overall a decent hotel.

Great to see Myanmar before it changes.

I was happy to be away from the city centre and feeling part of a community, especially in the hotel. Owner and staff really friendly. Couldn't do enough to help me. I would definitely stay there again. Myanmar accomodation expensive compared to other Asian countries like Cambodia and Vietnam for the same quality, but the friendship is far better.

Airport Location, Attentive staff & Clean Rooms

Positives: Nice hotel decor, clean room, attentive staff, and good, reasonably priced breakfast. Best? Close to airport. Negatives: Neighborhood is not for sightseeing, and far from downtown. Although it is a cheap taxi ride to hub of activity. No elevator for suitcases, but staff will help. Good experience!

Nice short stay

Enjoyed our short stay here by airport. Staffers very friendly. I accidentally left my iPhone in room at checkout and they brought it to me as taxi arrived. I was so impressed by their honesty and integrity. For breakfast, try the fried rice with egg, amazing!

Just a hotel near the airport

Just stayed here because we had an early morning flight and didn't want to suffer through the awful Yangon traffic. Room was on 5th floor with no elevator which we knew when we booked (but why build a hotel with no elevator?). Staff helped us lug our bags upstairs which was nice. Room was big but had an awkward layout. TV was almost another room away and on the far right wall. Can't watch it from bed but they don't provide sitting chairs either. Didn't matter though as there were no English channels. I think they might have bug bombed the place right before our arrival as there was a powerful smell and my friend couldnt stop coughing and the room left a chemically taste in my mouth so we had to leave for a while to let the smell disappate d air clear. Aside from that this room was much more new and cleaner than other hotels weve stayed at in Yangon. Location is close to airport but nothing else - not a very interesting area. They tried to make us hand in our key to the front desk when we left but we refused. Why give us a key at all? A few power outages which is normal.

Good hotel near airport

This hotel was fine. It is very conveniently located near the airport, and it is not too long of a cab ride to downtown. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. There is a great restaurant, Lucky Seven Tea Shop, near the hotel.

Cheap and cheerful very close to airport

As we were arriving late into Yangon and had an early flight next morning to Bagan we wanted a cheep and cheerful hotel close to the airport. High Five is 10-15 minutes drive from the airport, very good value, nice food selection and hotel staff had good English. Staff were very proactive at organising wake up call and taxi etc.

Hotel close to Yangon airport

I had a great experience. I was exhausted after a 28 hour set of flights from the USA. I was leaving 15 hours later for another flight, so I wanted a hotel that was convenient and comfortable.I arranged pickup at the airport by the hotel. The pickup person was there, the trip to the hotel from the airport was short, the hotel check-in was efficient, the bed was great, breakfast was simple but very acceptable. This is not a five star hotel but it was perfect for a hotel near to the airport. The shuttle back to the airport was free and straightforward. i would definitely use this hotel again.

Nice place to be esp if you have early flight since it is near the airport (10-15 mins) it is clean and beds are comfortable. Staff are all nice.
