Only three minutes from downtown, and nestled in the historical Washington Park neighborhood, our quaint Mother-in-law suite is ideal for travel nurses, couples or even small families looking for a safe & comfortable place to rest after a productive day of exploring. The suite is literally a stone's throw from the School of the Arts and walking distance to the Elevation Church/YWCA building, Salem College, Camino Bakery, Convenience Stores, etc.

The suite is furnished with a King sized Bed with memory foam for a comfortable good night's sleep. The accompanying folding bed provides additional sleeping space as needed. It also has a dedicated workspace desk with a lamp, high speed internet and a Playstation 5 for break time. The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials needed to prepare a wholesome meal as well as a curiously interesting portable dishwasher. For those traveling with infants or babies, there is even a crib for parent's peace of mind and the bathroom has a tub (and shower) for bath time. As far as entertainment, the suite is equipped with a 65 inch curved Samsung TV where you can sign in to you streaming service of choice

The mother in law suite is in the back of our main building which is a historical 1910 home and is used by the owner and other Short Term rental guests from time to time. But the back yard and deck are shared spaces available to you.
For those with electric cars, we also have a level 2 fast charger that is available for use. So if you are in town, come give us a visit.

Guests have access to the mother-in-law suite, the deck in the back and the backyard with swing. Note that for safety purposes there is a video doorbell on this listing which turns on only when it detects motion outside the front door. The main unit in the front also has a video doorbell at its entrance. There are no cameras inside the unit.
The apartment is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and a patio, and there's space to spread out with a separate bedroom. Other standard amenities include an ironing board, a desk, and a travel crib.

Cute and comfortable

My stay was great my only compliments were the air conditioner cutting on and off kept me from sleeping comfortably and there wasn't enough room to easily turn around in the parking atea. Otherwise it was wonderful and very comfortable.

Apartment attached to the back of a heritage home

This unit would be fine for an overnight stay but my husband and I stayed for a week and did not find it adequate. For instance, it has a comfortable bed, however, except for 3 flimsy stools in the kitchen, there are no chairs nor sofa to watch tv or read. As for the bathroom, there is a large gap all along the wall and the bathtub insert and the rusty drain is exposed. Moreover, there are no hooks to hang your used towels which becomes necessary if staying for longer than a night. Lastly, there is a large wooden deck and some nice rattan patio furniture. Unfortunately, the white cushions were dirty and had mildew which is why I am not providing full marks for cleanliness.

I believe I was one of the first guests, and the unit was lovely! I will admit the driveway was a little difficult to identify because it is a historic home; however, it only took about 2-3 minutes to figure out where I was going. The unit was very clean, spacious, and it was obvious thought and consideration went into developing this area for traveling guests. The kitchen was nice, spacious, and you could easily prepare a meal with everything available; however, I did not cook. They have filtered & chilled water in the refrigerator, which was very refreshing after a long day, but no ice. Fortunately the appliances worked really well and was able to bring my beverages to a refreshing temperature in no time. The hot water and water pressure are Excellent, and the tub was made with the perfect contours to allow you to relax and unwind. I was VERY excited to see they provided a fan in the unit that was not loud (I need a fan to sleep well). The television and other amenities were very nice, new, and tastefully implemented to maximize the space provided. I would recommend parking your vehicle so you are driving towards the street and not back-out. The turn-around was tight but manageable with a SUV. The bed was extremely comfortable. Deck was private, and I would definitely stay here again when I return to Winston-Salem The hosts were very hospitable and attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure the stay was comfortable and enjoyable! 5 🌟
