Room was excellent, staff helpful food was excellent. Hotel undergoing refurbishment only downside lift was out of order but i could see work being carried out. Will happily stay again

It’s a lovely hotel The bar was lovely and the staff were very friendlly The restaurant was very clean tidy food was nice we had breakfast nice choice of food ye only down side was because the hotel is being renovated there is no lifts and we were placed on the third floor and it is a lot of stairs to go to the floor third floor every time with suitcases or if you’ve been out for the day come back and have to keep going up three flights of stairs to get to the top floor every time which ties you out and then it makes you not wanna go out again because of all the stairs you have to it would’ve been better if they they done the lifts first before they started to renovate that’s just my opinion and I felt sorry for some other people who were on the top floor like the elderly everyone said it was touring keep going up and down up and down apart from that it does look nice what they are actually doing in the hotel and then eventually I reckon the price will be double to what it is now

The staff were extremely friendly. The service was exceptional. We stayed in their new rooms that was only finished last weekend and was an absolute amazing stay! Would highly recommend! 5 stars!!

Hotel is nice enough as were the staff but was disappointed there was no lift to the top floor.... that's not ideal for people who have difficulty walking. My main whinge about The Royal is the parking. When I booked, it wasn't made clear that you have to reserve a parking space so we had to go to nearby car park in the overspill car park. For a hotel that has 140 rooms, 20 car parking spaces, if you're lucky, is frankly quite ridiculous. Other than that I'd recommend The Royal.. it's nice and clean.

The property is currently undergoing renovations, its an older building but they are doing a great job with the refurbishments, i cant wait to come and visit once it is completed. The restaurant and bar is fantastic. Great food... amazing vibes. The room was great, it had an amazing view and lots of space. The staff were friendly and helpful. My husband and I had a fabulous time. Thank you!

the bar and restaurant were very good. the hotel is in state of renovation and there were tradesmen everywhere making noise etc. the sockets in my room had intermittent supply through the night. the lift was out of order. the location was great and views from hotel were fantastic

The property needs a complete refresh starting with the terrible dark green wallpaper the lifts have been out of operation for months not good for the elderly food basic but expensive not a bad stay but would not stay again.

Whitby seafront face lift

This hotel is going through a huge transformation and still trying to keep customers happy and i get that totally .... I understand all this but surly a little later time for drills to start drilling is ok during people's summer holidays instead of 8am and also scaffolders to start after 9am instaed of just before 8am
