There’s mini golf within a wonderland sculpture park a 5min drive. Return home to explore rock pools or stroll past snorkelers (book lessons for all levels) to Bait House aquarium or the children’s playground at delightful Island Bay & treat yourself to coffee or ice-cream. You can see Princess Beach from the home, famous for gorgeous sunsets across snowy South Island mountains.

Stunning and charming
The view from this property is really as stunning as advertised. We enjoyed watching the ocean waves crashing on the rocks, seals frolicking in the swells, gulls, shags, and other birds flying about, and lots of ferries, kayaks, planes, sailboats, and joggers going by, both near and far. The property is well furnished with interesting and eclectic decor, and lots of space to relax both indoors and outdoors. We appreciated the nice touches including the fresh organic apples left for us by the host. The road can be a bit busy, but there is a good sidewalk in both directions and a fairly short walk to the nearby beaches and the small aquarium in Island Bay. All-in-all, a wonderful place to stay right by the water!

We really enjoyed our stay in this home! The views are incredibly beautiful. Julie the host is thoughtful and supplied everything we needed. We loved Wellington as well. We used the city bus system almost exclusively and it took us everywhere we wanted to go. We enjoyed the cable car and the Wellington Botanical Gardens were exquisite. The Te Papa museum is a must see. The Grocer’s Shed, a short walk from the house, has delicious food, coffee, and ice cream. We would love to return and would definitely stay in this home again. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed the comfort and beauty of this very clean and inviting property. It was necessary to have a car to explore all that Wellington has to offer but found cafes and spots nearby that also enriched our trip. Communication was initially difficult just prior to our stay because our hosts were away, but as soon as they returned, they were immensely helpful and accommodating!

Amazing Sea Views
Loved the sea views from upstairs floor and downstairs from bedroom. Lovely and clean, good heat pump. Stairs are quite steep but were no worries for us. Would stay again.
