excellent breakfast

we were on 3rd floor with lift access. the room and toilet are big. room is well layout and bright. however, bed is too soft with a sink-in in the middle. breakfast is enjoyable and though we stayed 5nights we look forward to the breakfast. the restaurant is good too. had a double burger, chicken salad and beer. traveling to stockholm and will be also staying at another scandic hotel.

A disappointing experience for dog owners

We stayed at Scandic for one night with our small dog and travelling with a dog apparently means you get the worst room they have, although you pay more than guests without a dog. The room was unfortunately not clean, incredibly hot and had issues that some basic maintenance could have easily solved. The bathroom was very dirty and had black mould on the tiles, the shower was broken so you could not take a shower without hand holding the shower head. When I brought up the issues to the staff, I got a ‘sorry’ but no offer to rectify any of the issues. We were just told ‘that’s our dog room’. Travelling with a dog should not mean you have to live in a dirty room that’s in disrepair. Very disappointing.

Veldig fint hotell med kort avstand til ferjekaia. Sentrum av Visby lå en par minutters spasertur unna. Hotellet bestod av mange, lave bygninger, og egen restaurantbygning med både inne og uteområde. Basseng og lekeplass. Det var lett å finne fram. Rommet var rent og sengene gode. Veldig god kundeservice og hyggelige ansatte!

Vi hade anmält sen ankomst eftersom vi åkte med den sena färjan från Nynäshamn. Det var kaos i receptionen, främst beroende på att man samma dag hade bytt från Scandic till Quality-organisationen. Väl på rummet var det endast två sängar bäddade, och två omgångar handdukar, trots att vi hade bokat och betalt för tre gäster. Efter viss förvirring i receptionen fick vi sänglinne och handdukar och kunde själva bädda upp den tredje sängen. Då upptäckte vi att rum och badrum var ostädat, bl a silverfisk på golven. Nästa dag bad vi därför om extrastädning vilket skulle ske under dagen men tyvärr var det inte åtgärdat när vi kom tillbaka till rummet på eftermiddagen. Efter ytterligare påstötning i receptionen fick vi rum och badrum städat på kvällen. Hotellet komponerade oss med en mindre summa pengar för dessa brister från deras sida. Positivt. Hotellet ligger perfekt nära hamnen med gångavstånd till ringmuren. Mycket bra frukostbuffé och trevlig personal i restaurangen som har servering även på kvällen. Till hotellet finns Jacuzzi och pol, mycket uppskattat för vårt barnbarn. Sammantaget kan vi rekommendera hotellet som ok standard och, som sagt ovan, perfekt läge nära hamnen i Visby.
