¡Escápate a esta encantadora cabaña junto al río! Situado en la orilla del río Watauga, puedes salir por la puerta y meterte en el agua y volar hasta el contenido de tu corazón.

El nivel principal tiene una gran sala con techos abovedados con vigas expuestas y muebles de ante dispuestos alrededor de una chimenea de piedra con un reproductor de TV y BluRay montado en la parte superior. Cañas de mosca vintage decoran la habitación, y hay un árbol de navidad rústico en una esquina decorado con un tema de pesca con mosca. Una mesa redonda para cuatro con puertas corredizas de vidrio da al río, y hay otra mesa para 6 en el comedor. El comedor tiene su propia chimenea de leña y está al lado de la amplia cocina con pisos de piedra. También hay un medio baño con lavadora y secadora en este nivel.

Arriba hay dos dormitorios y un baño completo con una ducha de azulejos y un tragaluz. El primer dormitorio tiene una cama Queen y puertas corredizas a la cubierta superior, y al final del pasillo se encuentra el dormitorio principal. Esta habitación cuenta con una chimenea de leña en la esquina, una cama King, un sofá de dos plazas y un sofá cama con nido, junto con un televisor y un juego de puertas corredizas a la cubierta superior. Hay unidades de aire acondicionado de ventana en los dormitorios y sala de estar.

El piso inferior de la cabina tiene una segunda sala de estar con una mesa de futbolín, televisión de alta definición con reproductor de DVD, juego de arcade Golden Tee y sofá cama. Hay un baño completo con una combinación de bañera / ducha, y al final del pasillo hay un dormitorio con dos camas Queen.

Hay tanto para disfrutar fuera de esta cabaña como dentro. La cubierta de nivel superior tiene una hamaca, columpio de porche y sofá de dos plazas acolchado con vistas al río. La cubierta del nivel principal tiene la parrilla de gas y una selección de sillas mecedoras. Fuera del nivel más bajo, encontrará la bañera de hidromasaje, un columpio para niños y el camino de grava a la hoguera con el río a solo unos pies por el sendero. ¡Relájese y escuche el apresurado río Watauga mientras asa malvaviscos en la hoguera junto al agua!

Great cabin with lots of room!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Draggin Fly! It had plenty of room for our family and we loved the porches and the access to the water. We would love to come back and make more memories there!

Best of the best

We had a wonderful vacation! Fly Fishing 10/10 just steps away from the cabin. Cabin was very clean, kitchen well equipped to cook all meals. Gas grill needs a little work but we made it work. Will definitely book this cabin again!

Dragon Fly March 2024 Relaxation Retreat

Great property Great cabin ambience Well equipped and set up Great location on river with great view and sound of river Access to road from western approach required turn around on other side of road but no big deal. Hot tub and fire pit fantastic!

We had a great time but there was a very strong fish odor from the fridge/freezer and we had to go out and get lysol to cover it up.

Relaxing

There were six adults for our stay. The cabin was spacious and well equipped. I was skeptical about the window a/c units at first, but they kept the entire cabin cool and comfortable. Our favorite part was the river access behind the cabin... We had such a good time! We were pleased with our stay. Just a heads up, the driveway in is very narrow.

Stay in August

I loved the location of the property. It was close to a lot of things to do. The road into the house is kinda bumpy but safe. The space was great, lots of places to read and hang out with family. The only negative for us was that with the change in flooring there was a tripping hazard. Overall we had a nice time.

We had to wait 30 minutes for cleaning lady. Kitchen chairs were all broken or cracked. Couch was disgusting, old blueberries under it. Barbecue was filthy and hot tub had not been cleaned and had no chemicals. Staircase is terrifying and not good for any age. Heating was funky and the main fireplace was out of commission. Also when you book for a week you should get more toilet paper than just one roll and more than 2 dishwasher pods. Maybe have a weekend kit and a week kit. The lighting is also terrible, maybe invest in some better lights that work. Very disappointed in the amount of money I paid and then the cleaning people leave a tip envelope, I paid a big cleaning deposit, maybe they should pay her more. Luckily we we were with family and we made the best of it and had a great time on our adventures.

Great location on the river!

Communication with Blue Ride Mountain Rentals staff was excellent! Check in was super easy. We enjoyed fishing on the river and the super convenient location. The kitchen is well stocked with pans, dishes, glasses and mugs, and also has some basic spices and cooking oil. An unexpected bonus was the plentiful firewood provided by the host. One concern: The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are steep and were difficult for our senior dog. Also, the games downstairs are not in good working order. Otherwise, this is a great place - we definitely look forward to coming back!

Cozy mountain cabin for a cold winter weekend!

The Watauga River is quite literally in the backyard- like having a playground to explore! We used a part of our kids’ spring break from school to visit the area and tour App State for our senior daughter. Conveniently located to the university, downtown Boone, and nearby Blowing Rock (be sure to check out Moses Cone Park and trails!). With two vegetarians in our family, we loved the choice of restaurants with amazing veggie dishes! Wished we could have visited Grandfather Mountain about 30 minutes away, but rain and then bitter cold/ high winds made for poor conditions to hike and try out a mile-high swinging bridge. Maybe next time! The cabin was cozy, multiple fireplaces helped keep us warm, and the kitchen was well stocked with basic needs for cooking in-house. A great stay!

Could be better

Heating in general is lacking. Lots of remote space/fireplace gas heaters make for a gassy smell in the house. The place is clean but could use some upgrades in the kitchen with pans. I'm being a bit picky but for the money they are charging and fact that this place is booked a lot they could afford to invest in a few basics to improve the stay.

Great house by the water

We chose this house because of the river that runs through the back of the property. It was beautiful to sit and listen and watch it on the deck. My teens and golden retriever loved it. The house is in a great location, not far from groceries stores, restaurants in Boone and Blowing Rock. Banner Elk is a bit farther. The original Mast General Store is only a mile or 2 away. There was beautiful woodland scenery all around the house as well. We didn't get to use the fire pit but it is situated near the water with beautiful views. The house was comfortable, generally well stocked for cooking, and had lots of seating. We would have liked more towels but this is only a minor flaw. This house is in the woods near a river in an area of NC where it rains a lot, and I mean a lot. Therefore the house has a little bit of a damp smell but this is to be expected. with the level of moisture the house is surrounded by. It didn't really bother us but I mention this only because if you have members of your party who are very sensitive or allergic to possible mold, you may want to choose a different house. Let me be clear, we did not see any mold of any kind. This is just a heads up for people with severe allergies. We would definitely use Blue Ridge Rentals again.

Kids are begging to go back

I can't say enough good things about this getaway. It's a home that you can check into and not need to leave. So much to enjoy inside and outside of the property. We did a family vacation with ages ranging from mid 50's to 5 and we all had a great stay. 3 weeks later and my 5 year old is still asking to go back. We loved all the fireplaces and the cozy feeling of the cabin. We did a Walmart grocery delivery the morning we got there but there is a Ingles just down the road. We will definitely book here again. Highly recommend.

Awesome all around

I stayed here with some friends for a bachelorette weekend. The house was perfect! Great location, awesome view, and plenty of space for everyone. We loved it and now everyone wants to come back with their families!

Snow tubing trip

Overall great trip. We went up to go to Hawks nest snow tubing. Location was great in proximity to the Hawks nest. Views of the river behind house were wonderful. Slightly sketchy entrance to the neighborhood but nothing to worry about. Would definitely stay here again.

the Setting is perfect, the house is ok

The setting on the river is spectacular. To say the house is rustic and outdated is a kind understatement. We did enjoy sitting out on the deck during a huge rainstorm. The stairs are quite steep (and the ones going to upstairs have open risers). I would not recommend for older folks or very young kids .

Fishing Paradise

Cabin was clean and check-in was easy. Great location on the Watagua river. Good for fishing. Very close to restaurants in Boone. NIce private road that leads to cabin. Look forward to my next trip there.

Great Vacation, true memory maker!!

Draggin Fly was amazing! We all thoroughly enjoyed the mountain retreat! While the goal was to ski, I think the whole gang had just as much fun if not more enjoying Draggin Fly. The kids can't stop raving about the trip, playing on the rocks of the river and enjoying family time around the fire pit. It was indeed a great place to remember "Papa" our father that past away in September. A true lifelong fisherman, and fisher of men! We know he was with us in spirit enjoying the Draggin Fly experience!!
