Peaceful retreat

Perfect location, close to the action but being one block away made for a peaceful solution. I appreciate staying in authentic, non-chain places with windows that open. Front desk staff ladies were always so kind and welcoming. My favorite hotel of the three during my stay in Europe. Loved seeing the cathedral every morning. Didn’t realize the metro station was so close until 2 days in but that was great also. There were not a ton of photos their website so I was hoping the hotel would be ok and it was. I loved it, a hidden gem! Also only a 10 min walk from Wien Mitte train station which I took from Vienna airport.

The Domizil Hotel has a friendly staff and clean, quiet rooms. It is an easy walk to Saint Stephens Cathedral. St. Stephen’s is crowded, but the lines move quickly. Nearby are other churches that rival the interior of St. Stephen’s. Our favorite cafe is Cafe Diglas, and it’s only two blocks away. Excellent dinners including three types of schnitzel, Austrian goulash and more. Their strudels were wonderful.

Staff were very nice. Breakfast was good with lots of assortment. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. Windows were wide so lots of sunlight available, and blackouts drapes darkened the room at night. The property was well located, opposite corner from the metro station, but very close to Stephenplatz, around the corner from Mozarthaus, St. Peter’s church etc. We really enjoyed staying at the hotel.
