Not the worst hotel I’ve been in, but there were a few problems that made the stay less pleasant. Please be advised that late check-in might be an issue. On the app I booked it only said check-in opens at 2pm but not that it closes in the evening (8pm if I saw correctly). During late hours there was no one at the reception. The room was ok, but the one I stayed in was not to my taste, I suppose. Bright orange and pitch black don’t feel comfortable for a hotel stay, but others might like it. The hotel annex where most of the rooms are, seems to be built from a storage building or a barn. The room smelled, whether it’s the carpet or the drapes, I couldn’t tell. Service seemed quite poor and the gentleman preparring the breakfast was quite annoyed at being approached. Breakfast was ok, nothing special, we found better coffee and pastry in the bakery. The toilet was mostly clean, apart from the toilet seat which hasn’t been cleaned. I also found a few insects in the room. All in all, it’s not worth the price.

Nice room, parking on site

Wonderful host,breakfast, parking, and cleanliness. Main issues are dark hallways and room, and limited sockets for recharging phones. Bed itself comfortable. Walkable from city and parking is a plus.

Great hotel for the night we needed! Beautiful room and courtyard where the room looked out to. Awesome staff greeted us outside at the curb AFTER midnight for late arrival. We would have loved to have spent a few more days there if our travels allowed. No issues with booking this hotel in the future. Thank you!

The property is beautifully remodeled, but maintenance is lacking. The garden was in terrible shape, with a leaf filled cover still on the pool. The breakfast was not well managed. Nearly everything and gone by the time I arrived and nobody was working to refresh the offerings.

Highly recommended

We really enjoyed staying at the clocchiatti, it's clean friendly and updated sympathically for the age of the property. Unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough to make use of the pool but it looked really relaxing and still big enough for some decent lengths. Udine as a town was charming and Bella's pasta 2 minutes away was great too. Would definitely go back again.

Worth paying that little bit extra

Lovely and friendly staff. Great breakfast. Very relaxing pool side area and peaceful atmosphere. No lift though so be prepared to weightlift your luggage up the stairs!

Great stay, about 20 min walk to base of castle. Helpful staff, especially the ladies. Room was very spacious, with balcony overlooking pool. Lots of water in large shower, but only partly enclosed- water everywhere (but floor was heated, dried fast) Breakfast not good, min variety.

Granddaughter's Senior Trip

We were looking for a place part way in between Venice and Slovenia, and happened to pick Clocchatti in Udine, Italy. It was a great pick, the reception was very pleasant, and efficient, and the fact that the Hoel had a pool was a added benefit. the staff directed us to a fine local restaurant within walking distance, and provided directions to our next destination.
