What a wonderful surprise this motel was!! Twizel is a lovely town to stay in. Motel apartment room was HUGE with all the essentials for a comfortable, enjoyable stay. Great view of the Mountains over the golf course, walking distance to town. Friendly staff with great advice, and a simple check in process. Parking right out the front of the rooms. Very comfy bed, clean stay and highly recommend for those travelling the region in NZ. We’d love to return!

Modern renovated spacious rooms

Don't let the exterior fool you, this motel has very modern renovated units with very comfortable beds, large bathroom and well equipped rooms. Owners were very helpful with late check in and we really rated our stay.

The lakes motel is probably our favorite place that we stayed during our whole trip! Everything is clean, the rooms have been redone... The bed was AMAZING and so was the shower, had we known we would have such a lovely stay, we would have booked a longer stay. The staff is just lovely and welcoming, offering tips and help, we felt great here.. We will definitely return!

Motel is used for overnights when hiking at Mount Cook NP or cycling. It’s no frills but not inexpensive as nearby accommodation can be limited or block booked by tours. Area around motel rooms gets crowded and noisy with cycling tours loading gear and we were in the road side unit so felt this more. Otherwise it was a standard and typically decked out motel room.
