"TOK is a layover site for me. It is eight hours from Whitehorse and five hours from Anchorage. This is my second stay. I stay previously in a standard room which I thought was pretty mediocre. This time I stayed in a cabin, which was excellent. The cabin was roomy, comfortable, updated and much larger than the standard room. The only downside for either the standard or the cabin is that none of the rooms have a mini fridge. I travel with a cooler and it’s nice to have one that I can put my food in and if it has a freezer, I can freeze my water bottles as my ice. The cabin is well heated, but there is no AC which I assume is because Summers don’t get too hot. However, when I stayed in the standard room two weeks before that room was very hot. There was only a fan to help with the heat. The cabin includes a tankless water heater so you have as much hot water as you want. The shower though does not have a removable wand just the standard one. The tub height is very high, so watch out if you’re prone to tripping coming into or out of the shower. The towels were better than the standard room. The beds were more comfortable than the standard room. There was a arm chair to sit in and read in a table to sit at. The cabin I had did not face the road, so it was very quiet versus the standard room, which was very noisy where you could hear the highway and your neighbors. Go for the cabin is better even though it’s more expensive."
