Our family of 3 loved the quiet and peace of this tranquil paradise. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed birding, relaxing on the front porch, and getting sweet visits from local dogs and cats. It was great being so close to Boone and Elk Knob while also feeling very private. We will definitely stay here again!

Mountain Escape

This was perfect for our weekend in Boone. Host was amazing, wonderful communication. The Home was exactly as listed. We were there for a soccer tournament and love having a home to relax in between the games. Went hiking at the nearby Elk Knob Park. Everything was pretty convenient yet away from the "city". I've been booking with VRBO for over 15 years and have always had great experiences.

Amazing views, perfect accommodations

Stayed the weekend for our New River Marathon and this was the perfect stay! We couldn’t get over the Mountain Views and enjoyed the front porch with the swing. Got some great recovery rest outside in the afternoon and had fun exploring downtown Boone. Wished we could have slow mornings on the couch every day!

A weekend home away from home

More than enough space for me and my husband. We came with no more plans than to rest and eat out and that's what we did! We had everything we needed, and it was nice and peaceful. My only complaint is the grass needed mowing BUT it was raining while we were there, so what can you do?

Weekend In Boone!

We enjoyed our stay in Boone this weekend at the home on Rich Mountain. Early morning coffee with the view from the front porch was a great way to start each day. It is super clean and organized. This is the place for those who enjoy a leisurely drive on mountain roads.

Cozy cabin in the hills

This little cabin is perfect for a weekend away. We have 3 kids, so they fit together in the room with bunk beds, and my husband and I got the room with the queen bed. There's only 1 bathroom, but the water pressure was good, the kitchen has everything we needed, the living room is cozy, and the front porch has a swing and a great view. It was nice to sit by the window with our morning coffee and watch the birds at the birdfeeder.

Weekend getaway

Nice & cozy place. We specifically enjoy the wood stove as it was cold & windy. Not secluded as they are neighbors on both sides. Beautiful mountain view up front and a swing to enjoy the view. We would stay there again and maybe hike at the state park nearby.

Wonderful Stay!

The place is honestly bigger than it looks in pictures. Was everything we needed and more. Kitchen has basic necessities as far as cooking wares and utensils go - but we didn’t stay long enough to really utilize anything beyond the coffee pot. Beautiful morning views!

Great property owners

The day we got there, they lost power due to an ice storm. We were not able to stay there, but I was very impressed with the owners being quick to respond and quick to process our refund.

Cozy Cottage

The host was very responsive and accommodating. The home was not as clean as we would have liked as you could tell it hasn't had a good deep clean in a while. When the description says 4WD is recommended in winter, I would say you need it all the time. It had rained quite a bit before and during our stay, and we barely got up the driveway in our van. But, overall it was a good place to stay. Our kids loved it, especially playing chess in the living room.

Precisely What We Needed

We were a family visiting our family in the area, this place was convenient to Boone and West Jefferson, clean, and comfortable. The large windows in the living room were a popular place to watch birds in the snow. Cozy, warm, would stay again.

Mountain Bliss

We had the best and most relaxing weekend at this property. The cabin/home matches the pictures perfectly. It is very clean, beds are comfortable, more than enough linens, with a fully stocked kitchen. The fireplace quickly heats the entire home. The best part is having morning coffee and watching the sun rise over the mountains through the huge livingroom windows with a fire crackling. Would highly reccomend this property and cannot wait to come back! Oh, Also - they might have the best DVD collection ive ever seen!

Great Stay

The house was very nice. It was as clean as a whistle. The fireplace insert was great and we kept a fire going most of our stay. My kids were so excited it took an hour and a half to get them to bed our first night. We really enjoyed our stay.

Spacious retreat but missing some comforts

The layout of the house is great (except for bathroom) and everything you might want is provided. We didn’t cook on this trip but kitchen seemed well supplied. Things to improve would be the shower curtain and rugs/mats in bathroom - they looked kind of gross so we covered them with towels - that is an improvement that would cost very little. The mattresses are probably okay for young people but were not good for us - we tried both full size beds and had same result both nights. And the couch is not comfortable to sit on for very long.
