The only good thing was the location. Staff and service was VERY limited! Room was outdated, dirty, and had ants in it. Note in room read that lights and airconditioner must be turned off when not in room or you will be charged $25.00 a day. Key drop box is an unsecured basket attached to the outside office door. We were accused of taking the room key that was left in the basket after leaving a day early. The missing key remains unresolved at this point. We sent a picture of it in the basket and even called after no response.

Disgusting. Truly. We predominately stay in roadside motels on our many road trips with our kids so we aren’t fussy and are ok with old, as long as it’s clean. This place was a dive. I could barely sleep, felt like I was going to get bedbugs or lice. We wouldn’t shower here. Windows and windows sills were really dirty, cobwebs, bugs. Sheets with stain and holes. Dirty dirty old carpet. They couldn’t even provide us with a hand towel or light bulbs. Stay somewhere else.

This place was awful. Bugs in the windowseal, the carpet was old and dirty, the sink drain rusty, and the floor of the shower was black and covered with mold or something. We didn't dare step inside. The bedding was very old and the spreads had holes. I didn’t want to walk on the carpet without shoes. This place needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom to be habitable. They should have paid us $130 to stay there.

The gateway to the sequoia. Highly recommend The River inn. The staff are just amazing and super helpful. The room (cabin) was very comfortable. We actually booked a room and wanted to use the grill but it was not available so the put us in the cabin at no additional charge, i was able to cook right in the kitchen. We will be back as this is a great little place

The website says check in between two and four… We arrived and were told that they couldn’t check us in until three… When they checked us in there were two towels in the room both were worthy of using as a car wash towel as they had holes in them… The lamp was sitting on the floor, and the lampshade was not screwed on… The floor over by the sink smelled as if the entire world hockey Federation had showered in that area… I went to make coffee the next morning and there was still something in the bottom of the coffee pot… Which did not have a handle? I rinse the pot attempted to make some coffee, it didn’t work… It needs to be replaced… The person staffing the hotel tried to help us out, but seems to be hamstrung by the owner of the hotel and she’s not given the support that she needs to make it a nice place… I’ve been all over the world and this is the second worst hotel I’ve ever been in

You get what you pay for, well less than that.

Book on hotel.com, was charged more at hotel, than what was I reserved for. Also reserved a king bed and got two queen. Was told that was better for us? No we wanted a King. Beds are cleaned restroom was clean as well, except for the water on the floor which we has to wipe dry, after going to office to get towels as there were no towels in room as they were drying. This was late, after 8:30 pm. Shower was not clean, look as it had mold on floor, so take your chances in taking a shower! Just like a camping shower, wear your flipflops for sure! Office is close at checkout time so if you need a physical receipt, get it when you checkin as you will not find anyone in the morning. The positive side; Room itself was good, the price was good. The location was great! Food at the eastablishment next store was good. Not sure what the name was, but the serve sandwiches and burritos among other things. Over all it's an ok place to stay, would have been good if the problems we had, weren't present.

Clean, pleasant and amazing location.

The staff were so nice and helpful with local recommendations. The room was old but super clean and everything worked fine. Cant beat the location or the cafe/market next door.

Nice location - no one really around

Beds were comfortable and room had a lovely view. Great location for visiting the park. No one available for check in until after 3 pm. Check out was leave the key at the door. No one to help with a squeaking door - we ended up buying WD40 and leaving it for them. Hunted someone down someone to give us towels - we were short. We'd probably stop back again because of the location.

There was a nice view outside the window, the receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. At the office, they provide dining options within 10 minutes of the property, which was very helpful considering the lack of service in the area. I would recommend bringing inside slippers, the carpet area in the top floor felt like it wasn’t frequently vacuumed.

Cutest little hotel right outside Sequoia NP!

Cutest little hotel right outside of the entrance to Sequoia National Park! Hotel staff, especially Jeanette, are so helpful. She answered all of our questions, suggested restaurants in the area, and was just overall pleasant. The room is appropriate for price and size. The room is generally clean, with the exception of mold in the shower and dust behind items on the counter that were moved during our stay so we could have more room. We do not expect rooms to be absolutely perfect and for what we expect of a hotel, we would definitely stay again.
