The Castle House
The Castle House was recently selected and filmed for the upcoming Oregon episode of the largest vacation rental show in the world! Come experience this unique and special property for yourself before the home goes global! Stay tuned for show details…
In 1972, an eccentric dreamer set out to build a Tudor/Castle-inspired home in the Willamette Valley, Oregon, and by 1979 the original dream was complete. After his passing, in 1999 another creative mind took the torch with a vision to expand that dream, developing the property as a unique recording studio destination, furthering its reputation as a gem of artistic passion.
While the recording studio facility is not being rented at this time, the home is finally available to the public!
The Castle House is loaded with unique features including the 6” thick creaking castle door, and amazing three-story stone turret with spiral staircase connecting the levels of the home. The main floor boasts vaulted ceilings and open-kitchen feel connected to an outdoor living space overlooking a multi-level waterfall and pond. Take the turret staircase down to "The Dungeon” and you’ll find the perfect indoor playground with surround sound theater, pool table area, large in-wall aquarium, and bar. Take the turret steps up to the third floor and you’ll find a cozy loft with library and desk, and access to another outdoor covered seating area with views. Large master suite includes walk-in closet and master bath with double shower and vanities.
Outdoors you’ll have access to an open-sky fire pit and many other sitting areas with beautiful sunrise and sunset views. Located just a short drive from Foster/Green Peter Reservoirs, Santiam River, and countless hiking trails in the Cascade foothills, The Castle House provides all the amenities one could want for an extended stay-cation, with loads of nearby options for recreation, dining, and outdoor adventure.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 2.5 bathrooms, and a balcony. There's space to spread out with 4 bedrooms and a dining area. Guests can expect to find free WiFi and a Smart TV with a DVD player. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a coffee maker.

Castle House, definitely visit again.
A very fun house. The kitchen was fully stocked, even the spices.. So it was a breeze to cook in. The beds were very comfortable. It was a great place to have my family visit before and after our brothers memorial, so we could catch upwithout. They have a large selection of movies.in the dungeon and very comfotable reclining seats. There were some things that didn't function correctly. The propane firepit. Even when we switched out the propane, it would light but not stay lit. They have a fantastic record collection, but the record player did not work. I am assuming there is some revamping, going on since the master bathroom had a mix of chrome and oil brushed bronze accessories. I don't know if it was me, but the shower handle seemed to work backward to me. My husband and I loved the size and dual heads in the master bath. Would I visit again? Absolutely!!!

The Magical Castle
We were in town for my cousin’s wedding and I was so delighted to find this charming location to stay! It was dark when we arrived, but the house was all lit up, and it was so welcoming! I found myself smiling as I explored the house and enjoyed all of the interesting details. The grounds were beautiful with many indoor and outdoor places to just hang out. My brother-in-law and husband loved the downstairs recliner/TV set up, great to watch a playoff game, and just maybe doze off!
The host was very responsive and made things really easy, and she communicated all needed details before and during our stay. It was the perfect place to come back to and relax around the wedding festivities - I wish we could have stayed longer!

The Castle House rocks!
This place was amazing. The house itself was as described, and honestly quite a bit cooler in real life than in the pictures. The property is tranquil and relaxing, and the view of the western sky made sunsets a spectacle. The movie room downstairs was particularly fun!

Family wedding
The house worked well for our needs, but needs some maintenance and updating. Amazing record collection but no record player 😆I wish we could’ve enjoyed the outdoor space a bit more, it is very pretty.

Cool castle!
Super unique place to stay! We had a great time at the Castle House! Movie/pool table dungeon was fun, loved the fish tank! Plenty of room for our family of six. House could use a deep cleaning. Property is beautiful, lots of places to hang out.

Fun, large
Bottom floor (dungeon) is awesome for someone who can’t:/shouldn’t do stairs, walk right in. 1 bedroom downstairs with firm double, bar fridge and recliners with great lumbar support. Only a half bath, but doable for those with walkers or cane and maybe even wheelchair, although there is avlip at threshold to outside.

OSU Graduation Weekend
We chose this house for our son’s OSU graduation party. It’s a great, unique house for a large party. 7 of us stayed there comfortably and had a great time celebrating with friends. That being said - the following items need to be addressed:
Front door latch needs to be fixed. Every time we tried to open the door after the electronic lock opened, the manual latch would not allow the door to open without a struggle. The cupboard door under the sink is broken. Many lightbulbs on the first floor were burnt out or non existent- we bought some to replace so we could have good light for our party. The air fresheners can be a bit strong. The hot/cold in showers are switched. Not all the windows open as they should and some don’t have screens. First floor bedroom has no window. The entire house could use a deep clean.

Unique house
Very unique house and you certainly get the feel that you have your own castle. Photos are accurate. The furniture is very nice and keeps with the feel of the house. Could use a good cleaning and dusting. Other houses nearby though very quiet at night and the outside sitting areas were nice. The movie area in the basement is a highlight. Very comfortable seating, large TV with surround sound. Showers could be improved. Upstairs one seems to only have very hot water on one side. No screens in windows so couldn't leave open as we would have preferred. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. It is a one of a kind house

Wedding stay
We stayed at the property for our son's wedding, then stayed a couple days more because it was so pleasant. The place is an actual Swiss Chalet dropped in the middle of Oregon farm country.
You're surrounded by beautiful trees, and there are SO MANY places to sit and hang out, both inside and out.
Many extra touches from the owner make any kitchen work effortless, and the very nice washer and dryer are awesome.
It's an older building in the country and it needs love to make it work well for you, but a little thoughtfulness makes the home one in which you can truly get comfortable.

A lovely stay
Loved the unique Castle House. The first floor was fun to hang out and play pool or relax in the recliner chairs watching a movie with great surround sound. Deck was nice to sit outside having coffee listening to the running water of the decorative creek. The house was very nice and comfortable and a great place to come back to after outdoor activities and exploring the small towns nearby. Shea was very responsive to questions or concerns.

Magical Stay at the Castle
The castle is exactly as described, except for the magic! The home is lovely, quirky and way more than we hoped for. The lower level is ice cold-which was perfect as the temp was above 100 degrees and we were at the Guitars under the Stars festival and we loved it and needed it. We played pool, had margaritas under the stars by the waterfall, made lovely breakfasts and dinners, listened to music on the entrance deck, took band pics everywhere we could . We couldn't figure out the TV's (Apple TV's?) or the shower in the master bath until the second day-both heads need to be on full blast and then one will come out cold-otherwise the both are piping hot, or if you only have one on, it will come out piping hot, but otherwise it was perfect. The kitchen was fully stocked with spices-thank you!, and the all important blender is downstairs. Plenty of towels, blankets, soaps, etc. The only thing we couldn't find was baking sheets, however, we made it work with a pan we had brought. The coffee pot is a late sleeper, and it took several tries to get it to get it to brew right now, as opposed to four hours in the future, but it's large, and does work fine, once it starts. We walked around the site in the mornings and got to see the different trees and wildlife along with perfect areas to drink coffee before the heat started. Coming back from the concert, the place is lit up like a Bavarian lodge, and just the most welcoming site. Everyone in our group wants to come back next year, or sooner, if we can, to the magical castle. Thank you for sharing your delightful home with us!
