El Cortijo de Tejia, está situado en el centro de la isla de Lanzarote, en el municipio de Teguise. Es una antigua casa de labranza restaurada, respetando la arquitectura tradicional de la isla. El silencio, la privacidad y la tranquilidad del lugar la hacen ideal para el descanso, y el contacto con la naturaleza alejada del turismo convencional, a muy poca distancia de los lugares de la isla para degustar nuestra gastronomía, visitar los centros turísticos, museos, bodegas o practicas deportivas, etc

Consta de 3 dormitorios con camas dobles totalmente equipadas, que acoge de 2 a 6 personas, cuarto de baño, biblioteca, sala de estar, cocina equipada y comedor separado. La zona exterior cuenta con piscina privada, jardín, pérgola con barbacoa, zona de aparcamiento, dando todas las posibilidades de disfrutar al aire libre.

Beautiful house

We had a fantastic time staying Jaun’s house - the house is beautiful and in an incredible setting. Very well stocked kitchen and great outdoor space. We had a wonderful time and will definitely stay again.

Relaxing remote getaway

A wonderful property

Super house done up with such good taste. Beautiful and remote. So much wonderful stuff to see in Lanzerote. Lava rocks in volcanoes , super hidden tiny coves to swim in , cedar Manriques wonderful clean design influence everywhere. We loved it.

Perfect place!

We had wonderful holidays in Lanzarote, this property is perfect place for quiet, peaceful and so authentic feeling. Truly beautiful inside and outside. Every place Juan advised to visit, was worth it. We will come back for sure, and will advise this property to our friends!

A Happy Return!

My wife and I stayed here last year and had no hesitation in booking again. The house is old but full of character approached by an off-road track. There are wonderful, long distant views in all directions iand very quiet. A great place to relax!

Short winter holiday

Fantastic throughout. Host exceptionally helpful. House beautiful and full of character. Lovely pool. Location gloriously remote but restaurants and supermarkets easily accessed by car. Suited us perfectly.

Villa amazing in its typical Lanzarote old style, beautiful. Outside area delightful, many cats so be aware beforehand. Easy access to whole island. No real problems but questions answered and dealt with immediately. Would visit again. You need a car

Authentic and spectacular location

This is a really beautiful and traditional Lanzarote farmhouse, with striking views and a characterful and artistic interior. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, the owners are very friendly and helpful, and it's located in a dramatic and memorable spot. Despite this, it is very conveniently located, with all the services you will probably need nearby. We particularly like the sunny terrace, the tranquility and the feeling that this is someone's home rather than just another holiday let. Highly recommended to those looking for a quirky and peaceful base in Lanzarote.

Tranquility

Tranquility at its best at this comfy wonderful renovated farmers house with own beautiful pool far away from the big tourism at the end of a dusty road. Blissful Hideout

We have just returned from a fabulous relaxing week in Juan's wonderful house. If you want solitude away from the crowds yet within 10 minutes drive of the town and beaches and don't want to stay in pretentious surroundings then this house is the place to be! The house is an inviting, cosy retreat full of interesting features, furniture and artwork; the outside space is enclosed and inviting where you can escape the winds or relax in the shade out of the sun when its too hot. Although the pool was a little dirty when we arrived, Juan could not be more apologetic and immediately attended to clean it for us. If you're expecting 5* star minimalistic chic, don't go....if you're expecting to escape and unwind in a 5* traditional back to basics homely retreat then I cannot recommend this place enough! We absolutely LOVED our week away here; we miss the cats already and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you Juan for being a wonderful host....

A spotless clean, spacious and quiet place for a holiday away from the crowds in the resorts.

500m to the nearest neighbour and 1000m to the nearest road. The villa is right at the bottom of couple of volcanoes, surrounded by excellent mountain bike and running paths (but not too close to obstruct the privacy). The property has some half domesticated wild cats. They are very cute and entertaining for us who like cats, but if you are not a cat lover, this property may not be for you, as they tend to get a bit loud and a little excited when hungry or thirsty. What’s not clear from the photos is that the house as a small library with a couple old and comfy armchairs. An excellent place to sit and read/listen to music with a glass of wine in the evening. In terms for an improvement, if there is anything that we missed it would be a more robust BBQ, especially for groups of more than two. That said it did not lessen our enjoyment in the villa. We had a fantastic stay here – and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who wish a quiet, rustic place away from the resorts, but still with only a few minutes’ drive or cycle (if you hire bikes) for shopping, restaurant visits or the beach. Many thanks Juan for a lovely time!

Simply the Best

A wonderful villa, we have been to Lanzarote many times now and this is definitely the best we have stayed in. The position in the middle of the countryside is ideal to if you want peace and quiet, the only sounds you will hear all day is the occasional plane taking off from the airport. The nearest building is about half a mile away with no others within miles. However you are very close by car (5 to 10 minutes) to the sea Costa Teguise, and many restaurants and other amenities. As a previous review said the pictures don't do the villa justice it is decorated brilliantly with huge indoor plants and many original artworks around the walls. As the house is not on any mains services don't expect electricity guzzling appliances like dishwasher and washing machine, but the electric supply was completely adequate for all other uses (wifi, tv, lighting etc.) The internet connection was fast, the hot water was very hot. The pool was bigger than we expected from the pictures and got plenty of use. Juan was very helpful and friendly, unfortunately we were half an hour late meeting him at the arranged meeting point on the first day as roadworks on the road from Tahiche got me confused and I spent some time going round in circles. Phoned Juan and he came back out straight away and guided us to the property. A definite 5 stars all round.

Estupendo alojamiento en sitio tranquilo

El alojamiento es perfecto. Una casa antigua muy cómoda y muy bien decorada y equipada con una piscina cuidada, situado en un sitio muy tranquilo, y aislado, lejos de las aglomeraciones. Juan, el dueño de la casa, muy amable y atento. Ha sido una estancia perfecta. Sin duda repetiría.

El mejor lugar para conocer la isla

La casa de Juan Francisco es un pequeño paraiso en el corazón de Lanzarote. Rodeado por la nada, puedes descasar y sentir la tranquilidad de que es imposible que alguien te moleste en ese recóndito lugar. Las imágenes no hacen justicia a la casa. Es un espacio encantador con piscina propia donde disfrutar de la luz de la isla. El interior es acogedor y amplio y lleno de detalles muy cuidados. Y desde su localización puedes salir a diario a recorrer los rincones de Lanzarote o disfrutar de eso tan maravilloso y tan difícil que es no hacer nada. Nosotros lo recomendamos totalmente. Voyage estival en famille

La location (place, propreté, quiétude), la localisation et l'hôte (Juan) nous a permis de passer de superbe vacances en famille. La maison est isolée et au calme ( le chemin pour y arriver est pittoresque !!!), la maison est chaleureuse et authentique, les équipements sont au bon niveau (attention pas de lave vaisselle ni machine à laver mais pas un problème pour nous). Juan est un hôte tellement avisé et serviable qui participe raiment à la réussite du voyage...nous recommandons vivement !!!

Très agréable séjour

A brilliant place to stay in the heart of Lanzarote

We would strongly recommend this as the perfect base for a holiday on the island. We stayed for eight nights in early- mid November 2022. We have very high standards and this place met them in all regards - a large, well-equipped, very comfortable and simply very lovely place to stay, - and with a very nice host who is invisible unless needed. It is only 10 minutes drive to the beach and to the supermarket. The whole island - North, South and inland is accessible within 10-50 minutes. We totally loved it here and think you will too. Even the kitchen knives are sharp - how rare is that? We would love to stay here again. Thank you very much, Juan!
