Everything was great - staff were super friendly and accommodating. The property is beautiful and centrally located. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Few minute walk to all the bars, restaurants and the tram that takes you to the beaches. Room is spacious but we wish there were a dresser with drawers. Highly recommend.

Located just outside Messina Gate, location is quiet but quick access to Corso and not far from funicular. Attentive, friendly staff. Nice breakfast on the roof level. Hotel has a Michelin 2 star restaurant (which we did not dine at-- didn't realize prior to check -in and we had other plans). Recommend highly!

An impeccable hotel. They understand what 5 stars really means and they set the bar high for other 5 star hotels. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and every single staff member here is committed to ensuring your stay is nothing less than perfect. I simply cannot imagine even the pickiest person having issues at this hotel. Trust me you will not be disappointed. The pool is also incredible so be sure to set time aside in the itinerary for relaxing there. Ivana from the breakfast restaurant is a shining star and she made our stay so enjoyable as she was so kind and truly went above and beyond. My friend has a severe nut allergy and she took it so seriously and communicated with us and the chef everyday to ensure my friend felt safe eating breakfast at the hotel. I can’t say enough how great she was. If you are considering this hotel, you should book it before it sells out!

Cockroach found in room

The property itself is undeniably beautiful, with stunning views and a well-maintained exterior that initially made for an enjoyable stay. However, our experience was significantly diminished on the final night. Upon returning from dinner, we discovered a large cockroach—approximately 2–3 inches in size—on the ceiling of our room. We immediately contacted the front desk, and after about ten minutes, a staff member arrived with bug spray. By that point, the insect had already disappeared into a ceiling crack. Given time (after midnight), we insisted on being relocated to another room, as we were understandably uncomfortable remaining in a suite with likely more than one cockroach. The following morning, the hotel manager explained that sightings like this are common in Italy and not necessarily indicative of a cleanliness issue. While I appreciate the attempt at reassurance, I strongly disagree. I feel the situation was not handled with the level of urgency or seriousness expected at a property that positions itself as five-star. Aside from this incident, the earlier part of our stay was pleasant, though the room's noise insulation was notably poor. That said, given the circumstances—including spending one night in a different room category than what we originally booked—I do not believe the experience lived up to the standard or value of a hotel charging nearly $1000 CAD per night.

All staff were very friendly, particularly Ivana who served breakfast on the terrace. The location was good, situated in the heart of Taormina. Room was adequate with a lovely balcony (Rm 18). However, the accommodation is not 5 star in our opinion and did not justify the extreme price. Size of room adequate but elements showed signs of wear and tear which we would not expect in a 5 star hotel. The staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly but there did not seem to be sufficient staff to meet guest needs.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels in the world. It is extremely private as they only have 24 rooms and you need a key to even access the property in any way. The rooms are comfortable, well designed, beautiful and enjoyable. The service is special. There is a rooftop restaurant for breakfast which provides beautiful views of the ocean and surrounding area. Food at breakfast is great. Overall, I rank this as one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I highly recommend it if you can afford it.
