Views, views, views! You talk about a million dollar view, but with this house it isn't hyperbole. It was truly amazing. The 50 foot walk down the path to the sand created the perfect "sundowner" experience if we didn't want to watch the sunset from the pool, the deck, the house, or basically anywhere. But it wasn't just sunsets, we were lucky enough to catch humpback whales from the deck, locals fishing, and hours upon hours of waves. You rent this house for the view, but that isn't all.
We rent houses all over the world. This is one of the best stocked houses we've ever stayed in. We cooked an entire Christmas Dinner with the cooking supplies that were included. Literally, we wanted for nothing. You just don't find that kind of extravagance in a typical rental.
The house and the staff were amazing. The location is about seven minutes from town in a gated community. The road in can be a little rough, however, we rented golf carts through the management company and had no real complaints about dust and the free Costa Rican massage.
The management company was amazingly attentive. They helped decorate the house for Christmas, they responded to all of our questions promptly. They stopped by our second day in the house to introduce themselves and make sure everything was good. If you don't mind paying a couple of extra bucks, they will literally do everything for you. We like that kind of "ala cart" service and found them to be precisely to our taste. Thank you!
We were two families of four traveling together. The house was perfect for a group of our size.
Minor issues:
The COVID check in process (touchless) was appropriate, but it left us wondering which light switch turned on which light for most of the stay. We also couldn't get the spa hot, but given that it was 90 degrees we didn't really pursue it. I am sure if we asked the staff or the management company would have fixed it immediately. They keep the pool cooler than the kids would have liked, however, for the adults who were in the sun it was just about perfect. But like I said, these are seriously minor issues and partially a casualty of the pandemic.
Finally, the youngest child in our group was 10 years old, we would not recommend this location for anybody with kids under 5. The entryway pathway has water on both sides and it would have really stressed us out to if we had toddlers.
Rent this house. You won't regret it! We would definitely rent it again!
