Staff were the best. Absolutely treated the guests like royalty. The suite was fantastic with the open air onsen and wooden bath. The toilet was worth mentioning... Fully automatic. The dinner was above and beyond and so much food we could barely eat it all. So fantastic! Breakfast was the best there is. Only bad thing is we couldn't eat the 2nd morning because we had to catch a train and the breakfast is not until 7am. All else was superior. Nice store across the street with great deals 500 yen for big pack of face masks. The gift shop was fully stocked with all the souvenirs and gifts you could want. I absolutely will return to this town and this hotel. Side note don quijote is still being built so double check before you make the walk.

Excellent hotel. Fantastic rooms, top-notch service and two great onsens included. Breakfast is wonderful, full with options. There are 5 restaurants insidd the hotel and and one of the best souvenir stores we have seen in Japan. 10/10

I was just studying property just 10 minutes easy walk from the bustling Centre Takayama. Fantastic facilities with multiple dining options. The food was delicious. We had a wonderful kaiseki dinner, just be prepared to eat a lot. The courses kept coming beautifully prepared and so worried. All the staff are fantastic it more than matter expectations on every account.

Hotel is beautiful but to me, it’s too big which gives me the feel of a corporate hotel. We stayed in a Japanese traditional room and it was really nice and big. The first night we have to call front desk because they haven’t made our futon beds they do it at 7 pm) and it was getting late. The onsen was huge. I like the outdoor onsen and it was so relaxing. There is a shuttle bus to and from the station hourly. We didn’t know about this when we arrived. The location was a little bit far from the bridge where the main town is located. It’s probably about 25-30 minutes walk but timing the shuttle bus to the station saved us 10 minutes of walking. Breakfast was satisfying with a lot of options. The breakfast room was huge (like a ballroom). If you like a Western style hotel, this is a good one but if you are looking for a more traditional Japanese hotel with character and a little closer to downtown, maybe look for another hotel. Find one closer to Nakabashi bridge.

Beautiful hotel, not really close to the main activities, but it was about a 15-20 minute walk (doable for some). The room was amazing, we stayed at the Japanese traditional room with an outside bath and it didn’t disappoint. Also the buffet breakfast was really good. I’m very critical of buffet food and I was very pleasantly surprised with this one.
