Great Location. Right next to Suwon City Hall Exit

(3 stars) The hotel is actually in a great location and at a great value. Exit 4 and 3 are closest exits to the hotel. The hotel style is a large business style. Shower pressure is good. Wifi is good, and the mini-fridge has complimentary sodas and water. The bed was comfortable. There is a faint smell of cigarette smoke that probably was allowed a decade or so ago. The smell didn't bother me, just wanted to give you readers a heads-up. The amenities were definitely upgraded.

Front desk was most helpful and staff spoke good english. Room was clean, good wifi, but no window. Separate bathroom and toilet. MRT and bustops just in front, also easy to get taxi. Interesting street shops and restaurants nearby for meals, or you could go to Hwaseong fortress (by bus or taxi). Breakfast is simple but well prepared traditional korean style, also with cereals and toast.

Suwon City Hall Area

This excellent hotel is a converted love hotel, and this heritage shows: There are limited closets, tremendous bath room (spa) facilities, strong privacy (excellent sound insulation and very small windows which can be completely darkened) and an excellent entertainment system. I stayed in a "terrace room" which had a bedroom with small sofa and work area, an enormous bath room, separate washing and toilet facilities, and a private discrete court yard. The hotel is not the newest, but it is well kept and very clean. The staff is very helpful and speaks a little English. The (included free) breakfast has a variety of warm dishes (Korean style) which change daily, in addition to continental style. Then there are a lots of benefits included: free laundry services, free transportation in the morning to nearby locations, and free transportation to the airport bus station. The hotel is right next to the City Hall subway stop on the Bundang line in an area full with restaurants and some department stores. To reach the hotel from ICN, take the airport bus towards Yeongtong which leaves at door 7B and get off at the IBIS hotel (the hotel is just around the corner). Depending on with whom you travel you might also enjoy the tremendous bath room (including a jacuzzi the size of a king bed and great shower facilties), as well as the discrete private outdoor area. Overall, I rate the hotel an upper-3 star with a very unique touch and very friendly service in a great neighbourhood.

Apparently a converted "love hotel" but overall an excellent choice. Room was spacious with great AC (beware other hotels with shared AC in the summer). Free water, and other non-alcoholic beverages, were provided at checkin as well as with every room servicing. Laundry service made a week long stay much easier. From ICN take bus to ibis hotel and walk 12,000 KRW). The mattresses were too firm by European or American standards but that is to be expected in all of Asia. Breakfast was not great, but not bad (not comparable to Scandinavian hotels for example); it was on par with any standard US hotel chain breakfast. Free scheduled shuttle to Samsung (~4000 KRW taxi if you skip the shuttle). ~5400 KRW taxi to Suwon station (~2000 KRW train ticket to Seoul station, but 45m). When staying in this area I will book here again. Related: rent a phone with unlimited data for ~5000 KRW per day at ICN (guaranteed you will not regret it).

Joa hotel in Suwon - Convenient for business

The hotel is a nice "business" class hotel, but not luxurious. The room was large, clean, and well-appointed, and had an especially large bathroom with 2 showers and a jacuzzi tub. A really great feature of this hotel is its proximity to the prominent electronics company (S.....g), which is only a 15 minute walk away. So this hotel is great for business visitors. The breakfast buffet was OK, but not lavish. The hotel staff were very polite and helpful, and spoke english reasonably well. The (free) wireless internet worked fine. Overall, I think it is a solid 3.5-star hotel.

The hotel was about a 3 out of 5 based upon the advertisement and web site information. When I arrived they didn't know I had a reservation. The clerk had to look it up in a hand written book. First room I had the computer didn't work and the steam option in the shower didn't work. I complained and the hotel staff moved my things to a new room while I was out in the afternoon. In the second room many things weren't there as advertised. The entertainment system was gone. The television remote was broken. Lights were not working most likely just needed new bulbs. The European style toilet didn't work. I didn't complain anymore. Just lived with the problems the rest of the week. This was a nice hotel at one point but just looks as if they are not taking care of it. Also this hotel is located in an alley. Hard to get a cab driver who knew where it was.

내부는 조금 오래된 느낌은 있지만 직원분들도 친절하고 ..... 편안한 1박을 보내고 왔습니다. 길건너 음식점들도 많아서 맛있게 먹었고 홈플러스도 가까이 있어서 와인이랑 주점부리도 살 수 있어서 좋았습니다. 잘 쉬다 왔습니다.^^
