It’s a very nice and unique property. This is a great example of an earthship with natural solar heating. The thick walls make for a very quiet and serene environment. You enter through the greenhouse into the main living space where our late October to early November stay was completely comfortable even though it was pretty cold outside. We quite enjoyed our stay.

Came solo for my birthday and had the best time watching the sunrises and the sunsets. Everything was as described in the listing and my host replied back quickly when I had questions. Thanks for a great stay I really enjoyed reading the original earthship books that were there. So cool to learn more!

We loved our stay at this earthship. It was wonderful to experience an earthship and see how beautiful and functional they can be. We highly recommend staying in this gorgeous home. The views from the patio at night were also gorgeous.

Great place to relax

I was in New Mexico for work and I have always been intrigued by the Earthship concept. My stay was great- unfortunately not a lot of star gazing due to weather but watching the storms go along the horizon was impressive.

Perfect Weekend Getaway!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay in the Earthship! The check in and check out processes were seamless, the space was exactly what was advertised, and the views were stunning! My only regret is not finding a way to bottle the incredible scent the greeted us when we opened the door to the greenhouse area.

It was spectacular

We were absolutely thrilled to be able to stay in this house. It did not disappoint. The smell of the geraniums when you first walk in is delightful. We really liked the floor plan. And we enjoyed the proximity to the monumental bridge across the Rio Grande.

Best time ever!

The Earthship we stayed in far exceeded any our expectations. It was other worldly. We stopped at the grocery store and hunkered down there for our entire visit. The fire pit in back was a wonderful spot to stargaze. My daughter and I don’t remember ever seeing so many stars. The decor was beautiful and spotless. Everything was cozy and clean as well. We had a wonderful time.

Great time!!

Amazing experience and would highly recommend for anyone looking for an outside the box time! Gorgeous home and beautifully decorated. The interior details were spectacular and the greenhouse was the icing on the cake. Earthship Adventure

We loved staying in the earth ship. It was beautiful and very comfortable. Watching the stars on the outdoor patio at night was phenomenal - We saw shooting stars and there were just millions of them. It is very close to the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and we also toured the visitor center at Biotecture which was fascinating. Learned lots more about earth ships. Very quiet and peaceful.

Peaceful & calming

We loved staying in this earthship! We have had a huge interest in them and it was wonderful to be able to experience living in one. There is a sense of peacefulness within, especially when it is cold & snowy outside and yet so warm and comfortable on the inside. The greenhouse is a wonderful spot to spend time in, the bed is comfy and the bathroom is very unique. 20min drive to Taos, which has so many spots to eat and shop!

Earthship above Taos

A great first experience in an earthship! During a snowy night, high winds and temps in the low teens the interior stayed warm and comfortable. The system is easily managed, open door to solarium warmer etc. Well equipped home, we appreciated the full kitchen and unique solar fridge. The stars at night are big and bright- is an understatement. The daytime views of the front range are postcard worthy. Nearby gorge bridge provides a great walking trail and Taos itself is an easy drive. This is an escape, a learning experience and a real disconnect from all things hectic. Host was responsive but never intrusive. Recommended.

Earthship Goals

We have been intrigued with staying in an Earthship since visiting the Earthship Biotecture Visitor Center back in 2011. Circumstances came together to make a short stay at this Earthship possible. The house was clean, well organized with easy explanations posted about how to best use features of the house, and beautifully decorated with glass bottle walls, lush plants in greenhouse area and well stocked kitchen. Thank you for sharing your house and inspiring more off grid living!

Perfect!

This place was exactly what we needed! It was gorgeous and looking at the stars at night is a must! The host was very friendly and had great communication. The home had well written instructions and was easy to understand. We will be staying here again!
