Once part of a watermill system that Siena relied on for its flour, Palazzo a Merse sits conveniently 1 Km from the Siena to Grosetto road and the hills of the Montagnola Senese graced with distinguished noble villas and nature reserves. The collection of seven cottages and apartments each have their own furnished outdoor space which opens out into the tree shaded resort gardens with a swimming pool and a covered communal terrace where breakfast or grill dinners can be served on request. There is a large, room where the mill once was in a separate building next to the apartments, where small events sometimes take place.



The Palazzo a Merse resort is 15 Km south of Siena city in the Val di Merse overlooking the sunflowers fields it is renowned for. The resident host is a local guide, his insider tips make the resort the perfect base for exploring the river Merse's freshwater swimming areas accessed by marked trails for biking and hiking. Golfers will not want to miss a chance to play at Royal Golf La Bagnaia, one of Tuscany's finest golf courses which is 1.5 Km away. The delightful town of Sovicille is 10 Km and you can find all amenities at Rosia within 5 Km, while Florence, San Gimignano, the Chianti and the southern beaches of Tuscany are easily reached for day trips.
