Laurel Highlands

While the house was lovely and unique, sadly we will not be back. We experienced many issues that made our stay inconvenient and uncomfortable. The listing has no mention of the house not having AC, and this would have been good to know before deciding to stay on a warm summer weekend. We looked forward to using the fire pit, mentioned in the listing but when we arrived it was not as described. The pictures show a fire pit set up on the deck, but there was none there. Instead there was a small fire pit in the front yard with a few toppled over stumps nearby but no chairs. The grass was badly overgrown around it so we could not use it. When we reached out to the host to ask if they had a weed wacker we could use or if someone could cut it, they simply said “no”. The back deck was covered with debris from trees and looked like it had not been cleared off in some time. We tried to grill out, but the grill barely worked and we were unable to clean it with the worn down cleaning brush that was provided- nearly all the bristles had fallen off. Cooking inside was not much easier, as there was only 1 small pan. Inside, several lightbulbs were burnt out and we were unable to find replacements. Finally, the downstairs bathroom has a large window that is easily visible from the front yard and there were no curtains or blinds, leaving us unable to use that bathroom. I hate to leave a negative review, but there were so many things left uncared for in this home. With a bit more attention,

Great stay at The Homestead!

Our ski weekend at The Homestead was fantastic and the place was perfect for our group (two families with teenage kids)! Everyone enjoyed spending time around the fireplace and the location to the slopes can't be beat! Great communication with the owner and we would definitely book this place again!

The Homestead

The Homestead is conveniently located across from the base lodge with spectacular views of the ski runs and lodge both day and night. This property was well maintained and very clean with a well stocked kitchen.

Christmas Get-Away Didn't Disappoint

Paul was a fantastic host always responding in a timely manner. We arrived 2 days after Christmas to find the house adorned with a lovely Christmas tree in the living room. It was the perfect backdrop and special unexpected added touch to make our post holiday ski trip extra special. The location of the house is THE BEST. Walk to the end of the drive and hop on the slope and within a few minutes you will be on a lift to the top. Coffee and Tea bar was fully stocked and super convenient. The beds were cozy and loaded with the perfect amount of blankets and pillows. House was very clean! I made a rookie mistake and forget wood for the fire and extra trashbags but other than those items we had everything we needed for a great few days of skiing.

Perfect place to stay with family or friends at Hidden Valley!

The Homestead had everything we needed for our 2 families with kids and a Grandmom for a weekend retreat. The host provided clear and helpful communication and made sure we had everything we needed upon arrival and during our stay. This home was extremely comfortable, with beautiful wood burning fireplaces to keep things cozy (and even make s'mores) to an outdoor firepit and deck. The TVs had all the needed streaming services too, so everyone was able to watch what they wanted! All of the rooms had extra heaters to ensure the temp for each room was perfect for each guest, as well as plenty of closet or drawer space for your items. The kitchen was well stocked and clean and the host ensured amenities were available and aplenty! My family especially loved the coffee nook - everything they needed as coffee lovers (and even hot chocolate!) The home was very clean and everything was in good working order. Even the bathrooms had jars of cotton swabs and dental floss in case you didn't bring yours! And for the skiers, the boot dryer in the ski room was the best to dry out your boots for the next day! Thank you so very much, Paul, for thinking of everything we could possibly need for a weekend of skiing and fun with family. We look forward to returning to Hidden Valley and your lovely home! Thank you for hosting us!

Terrific Base Camp

From the first contact to the final check out, our host was responsive, accomodating and friendly. The house was clean and well appointed! Very comfortable for our family of 4 adults and 2 kids, could have easily had another couple. Location was the best, bottom of the slopes and near the lodge, convenient to everything. Thank you for helping us make family memories! We had a terrific stay!

Perfect place for a family retreat

Great location, amazing vibe, perfect place for family to connect and have fun. Fireplace inside is amazing and the outside deck has a propane fire pit. Located right on the Imperial slope and as close to ski-in/ski-out as you can get.

Summer Family Outing

The homestead was a very nice place for our family to stay. Everything was as advertised and the host communicated check in and check out instructions timely and was very friendly. Plenty of room and very clean. Very nice deck to sit and relax on.
