Outdated hotel with strong cigarette smoke smell

The hotel is old with dirty carpet and falling paint. It is really a 2 or 3 stars hotel. Our room also had very strong smell of cigarette smoke for both days we stayed there, even though it was a non-smoking room. I will avoid the Best Western brand in the future.

Good hotel with a good price.

A comfortable and quiet stay with clean rooms, friendly staff and a decent breakfast selection. Good price for the location. Close to metro and getting around places in Sofia. Only 35 minutes on the subway directly from Sofia Airport which makes it very convenient. Room decor is a little dated but doesnt take away from the cleanliness of the room. Staff was great. I was allowed an early check in at no extra cost and check out was also a breeze.

Hotel is a little dated in furnishings but makes up for it in staff hospitality and the complimentary breakfast, which has a range of options. Hotel is walkable to most sites in Sofia.

The hotel is very nice. I travelled there with friends, we are all very happy with our stay. They knew we have 3 people reservation, they made the extra bed with extra towels on the bed; I have not seen any hotel done that before. The shower and toilet is very clean. The breakfast is very good, many choices, including hot food, cold food, and deserts, many juices & fruits. I don’t know why other reviews are saying it’s bad but the food is much better than the food offered in the Aspire Lounge in Sofia airport. The stuffs are very nice! The hotel is very clean and well maintained. It’s safe area and quiet. I would stay here again next time!

This location is very convenient, I walked everywhere. The room is very clean; stuffs are ver nice. I am actually surprise how clean and good it is as I stayed in another ski resort in Bulgaria. The breakfast is also very good, various hot food and cold food options with deserts. Definitely a great stay; I would stay here again next visit.

Hotel location good easy walking to places of interest, area around hotel a liitle run down but a few local bars and restaurants a short walk away. Good and easy connection from airport on metro and then a 10min walkto hotel. .Only improvements would be breakfast not enough staff and topup of breakest areas slow so sometimes waiting for bread and hot food, and cups . It would be better if staff had a uniform or name badge so they can be identified in breakfast area ,it would be more professional. The staff work hard but an extra person would solve all of the issues. Otherwise a good breakfast area.

Would Give it a Miss

The Best Western Bristol looks like it hasn’t been renovated since the 1960s. Dark, dingy public areas and the rooms are also very tired with stained carpets. The room and linens were clean and the reception staff very helpful, but other than that, the hotel is poor. We went for breakfast at 9.30am and there was hardly any food left. They eventually replenished some items, but it was not a good experience. I have never left a two star review for a hotel before, but I think it is justified in this case.
