Cromwell tap nightmare- only go if your a drinker

From the minute we arrived it didn’t look good, the place was locked up and in darkness a food delivery driver couldn’t get it, although check in wasn’t till 2,on a Saturday you would expect it to be open for breakfast , We eventually checked in and came back about 4.30pm the place was like a mad house gangs of drinkers outside the level of our so called king sized room screaming and chanting and balling like a rugby club , when I went downstairs to speak to the manager he said he was too busy serving drinkers and would pop out when he had a minute , the noise carried on til we left at 8 pm the place was bouncing not what we wanted from a quiet weekend sway, The place isn’t managed from a hotel guest perspective it’s was just how much beer they could sell, the stay was absolutely hell and I’m putting this mildly, we stayed here before when it had a proper manager and it was really good that’s why we came back, realistically they should be operating for guests staying in rooms if it’s a noisy lager lout type of place it’s either one or the other, or at least controlled to guests can enjoy the Eid stay, this was a waste of £100 per night which I will demand refunding

Great service & excellent evening meal. Room clean but on small side. Room window ajar at top as lock broken…fix with glass glazing in place of front of window but that didn’t mask noisy front street traffic. Pack ear plugs just in case, otherwise you may struggle to sleep.

A bit disappointed

Good location - well decorated. On arrival we were informed the kitchen was closed - a refit I think. We were informed of the 10% off food and drink as a guest! We were shown to our room and given the keys to the various doors to gain entry. The clean tidy rooms were a little small - no problem for us we only had a small rucksack each - might be a problem with suitcases. We then went out to find somewhere to eat with the plan of returning for a drink in the tap house. Arriving back at about 8:15 we found the hotel in darkness and the bar closed so off to find a pub for a drink - we went to the Henry Tudor to sit by a lovely fire. Lovely towels for the shower but no toiletries supplied.

Disappointed with the room , very small, dated , nowhere to put any toiletries in bathroom , no privacy from window, nowhere to sit only on the bed . Went out for the day and bed hadn’t been sorted one cup still dirty and towels not changed . Nothing like it says on website ,

Overall great stay

Room looks amazing, cleanliness is fair. Cleaner do a great job, walls could just do will a touchup of paint. Heating didn't work at through our stay, however there was an electric heater. But to use this would come them a fortune. Service in the bar was friendly and service amazing. Food was fantastic, they also had a great selection of beers for those who like that sort of thing. Overall stay was great, just need to sort out the small maintenance issues. This is a honest assessment, hope it helps management to make future stays that much more special. Many thanks for a lovely day.

Great location for town centre visit friendly staff on site and they also have a few board games in the bar great atmosphere felt very relaxed here and managed to catch some rugby and darts too!
