Renovated, cozy cabin in the woods

We stayed the beginning of Sept. The cabin we rented was " Premium Cabin, 2 Queen Beds, Kitchen, Mountainside". It was recently renovated, cozy and clean. The cabin has a mini frig, Keurig maker & variety of coffees, hot cocoa, etc. Good quality pans for cooking. The cabin had a charcoal grill and a fire pit. The host Gary has charcoal and fire wood for sale at the office which is very convenient. Guests have use of the kayak and paddle boat. The property is wooded but a great view of the lake by the beach area that is in walking distance to the cabin. Gary is very nice and helpful. We were able to get a discount on the fjords trip in Seward if we booked through him. Bed was comfy and bathroom was nice. The Alaska railroad train does go though the property and that was cool to see. Wifi is only available at the office but you can take your time sitting at the table to use the internet on your device. We would definitely stay again.

The location is good, about 25 min from Seward. The property is ok but falls short on many amenities. Good for a quick night stay but would not recommend for a longer stay.

Nice place in the woods

Very nice place, super quiet and not far from Seward. Host Gary was super nice and accommodating. We had a great time and the place was very relaxing.

Lovely stay in nature

We absolutely loved our stay. The property is immersed in nature, close but far enough from Seward. The cabins are basic but this is really the point. The highlight of our stay was surely the friendliness of Gary (the manager/owner) and even his friends. A true pearl, a true local stay. Kids loved it too! The only place we stayed in Alaska that had its own playground, close to the lake. No small feat!

We stayed in cabin 4, aka the fun cabin. It has lake view and it was gorgeous. Really enjoyed our stay here. There is no wifi in the cabin; only in the office.

If you want to get away from it all, Renfros is the place to go. There is no WIFI or phone service unless you go to the lodge. Make sure you take your own provisions such as salt pepper etc. The fridge is very small and the freezer will not actually keep things frozen. Seward is not far for supplies. There is plenty of hiking and things to see in the aeea..

This was the cleanest, most well-maintained cabin weā€™ve ever been to. There were so many creative, beautiful touches to the cabin and the whole campground. The cabin was well equipped for everything we needed (2 adults, 3 teens) with a gorgeous view. There is nothing I wld have changed or added!!

We are so glad we stayed at Renfroā€™s! It is a great ā€œunpluggedā€ space where we got a lot of quality family time. There are books and games available in the office, as well as kayaks and paddle boats. Our kids really enjoyed exploring at the beach, playing in the cabin loft, and swinging in the hammock. The cabin was comfortable for our family of 5. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cookware. We would absolutely stay here again!

Great place to reset. Would go back.

Beautiful area. Quaint cabins. Super clean. Gary was a wonderful host Wi-Fi does not exist in the cabins but is available at the check in cabin. Would not have been a big deal on vacation but a little challenging when traveling for business. Remote area so no TV.

Stayed in a lakeside cabin with an absolutely stunning view. Every little detail couldnā€™t have been any better! The lack of Wi-Fi and tv at the cabin was a plus. The grounds were immaculate and the location was amazing! About 20 minutes from Seward. Weā€™re here for four nites at it was very relaxing. Gary is a great host!

A great place to stay for a Alaska nature retreat with the lake right in front of your cabin door! The cabins are brand new and very clean. We would have loved to stay longer.

Pros: Secluded and quiet. Near the lake. A hike down the railroad tracks leads to the river. Welcoming. Heater works great. The grounds are kept very nice and clean. Cons: No wifi in cabin. No regular coffee pot. No phone signal. Staff leaves for the whole day without having an emergency contact. You are on your own if something goes wrong like getting locked out of your cabin - which we did. No paper towels. No microwave.
