I rated this staycation a 3 out of 5. There was surely an opportunity to have met the 5 out of 5 but unfortunately it fell slightly short. Please don't get me wrong, we DID enjoy our stay and nothing negative would prevent us from booking again in the future. Let me list the negatives first. Firstly, the address listed from the booking process did not match with the sign which was confusing and caused a delay in arrival due to passing by two times trying g to confirm the address and name. This should have been mentioned in the booking process especially for a night arrival like ours. Winding switchback mountain roads with limited visibility is hard enough without having to look for the next safest spot to turn and go back and forth. Second the driveway was pretty aggressively washed out halfway up the driveway. The driv3ay goes halfway up and has an extreme hairpin turn and due to driving my wife's Lexus we did not have the traction or peace of mind I would have felt in one of my suv or trucks. After making it halfway up a washed out rutted driveway first half and you get to the hairpin turn I had to make 2 attempts at making it up because the tires simply spun and would not catch traction with out a running up speed. This was not optimal because once again, I was in my wife's Lexus not a larger truck. Good thing we bought new tires 1 day before we arriv3d because with that I'm not positive we would have made it. It did however sound like we ripped the flaring off the bottom of her car. Thankfully it did not. Worse yet, though was there was a power line down over the hairpin turn. Someone prior to our arrival used a large branch to hold it up with just enough clearance for our car to make it under, but if we had shown up in one of my other suv or trucks, then one of us would have had to use this branch and stand in mud risking potential risks just to raise it high enough to drive under. Once at the top we found the cabin. The cabin was very quaint and satisfactory. Inside I noticed a few things that were in need of attention. After a long drive I wanted a shower but very quickly gounf out that the shower head metal post shoots water 3-4 feet towards the kitchen and off the ceiling so no shower was taken by either me or my wife during our two night stay. We did use a cup from the cupboard and took a bath so there was that at least. The ceiling fan was very dusty and slung chunks of dust balls, and the hottub was very dirty and grimy inside
