Birthday Getaway
I booked this cabin to surprise my wife for her upcoming birthday getaway. She really wanted a nice relaxing weekend in the Gatlinburg area with our little family unit.
In searching for the right cabin, I knew she had a list in mind of what she would like. How many of those things could I control was my mission. Thankfully Smoky Top helped meet several! Being close enough to everything, having a view that was hard to beat, a nice place to tuck away and get lost in a book. Those were some of the non-negotiables going into this weekend and Smoky Top did not disappoint.
The correspondence with the owners was easy, informative, and forward-thinking, though we did not have any specific need to reach out. Everything was as described and you felt like a welcomed guest in someone's home.
Something that has nothing to do with the cabin and therefore should not be a part of the overall review grade is the drive up to the cabin. There were several reviews that caused a little anxiety, but the actual climb and descent were non-eventful. We even encountered a 30 degree drop into snow, but the road remained clear enough and easy for a generally nervous driver. Now, saying that, the owners do their diligence in reminding tenants of the recommended 4wd or AWD during the wintery seasons, so obviously take their advice if you can. We only had a fwd option with our RAV4 and were just fine. (Not a free pass to be careless, but sharing our option and experience only.)
Thank you again for the opportunity to stay at your property. You helped make a fun-filled weekend complete.

Smokey Mountain Getaway
This was our first time visiting the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area and the location of this cabin is absolutely perfect. The cabin has wonderful views and is nestled perfectly between the two towns. We could clearly see the fireworks on the second story balcony on New Years Eve. We were a short distance from all the attractions, great restaurants and Dollywood. My son enjoyed playing the video games and pool table. The owners are attentive and accommodating. We made memories to the enjoy for a lifetime.

Fun family weekend
My husband myself and our 2 kids booked this cabin for a weekend trip. The cabin was in a convenient location and not difficult to reach. On our first day we visited Dollywood and returned to the cabin to watch the fireworks. On our second day we made the short scenic drive down to Gatlinburg to visit the aquarium. We enjoyed all amenities of the cabin. It was clean and the beds were comfy. Owners were helpful, responsive and attentive. Would return and recommend!

Breathtaking view!
Our stay was wonderful! Although we had a short stay, we fell in love with the place very quickly. The view was absolutely gorgeous and we would recommend to anybody who is thinking about staying. The road to get there may be a little scary, but the view is very much worth it. The road also gets easier with the amount of times that you go up and down it. Don’t even try to go down and up at night though!

Fun Family Getaway
We had a wonderful stay in the cabin. Everything was clean and the view was incredible. We even watched a black bear walk by one morning while enjoying our breakfast in one of the decks. Great location for visits to Dollywood too.
The hosts were very good about communicating with us about a repair that needed to made to the dryer and were able to quickly accommodate our need for fresh towels since we couldn’t launder them ourselves until the repair was made.
Our kids loved the arcade game, and so did my husband and I. We enjoyed the hot tub each night after visiting Dollywood and the mountains.
Things to consider: I think you’d have trouble parking more than one vehicle here, but we had no issue with our one large SUV. If you’re going when it may snow, you’d probably have a very hard time reaching the cabin. It’s nestled pretty high up. The spiral staircase is beautiful and saves space but was scary with a 2 year old in tow. There is a baby gate on the top I just wish there had been one on the bottom as well.
We very much enjoyed our trip and waking up to the breathtaking sunrise through the full wall of windows each morning.

Perfect views and a comfortable cabin
We enjoyed our visit and the cabin made the trip near perfect! Lovely sunsets and sunrises. Great hot tub! The view is incredible and everything is as stated in the description. Beds were comfortable, some folks may want extra pillows +blankets, and the the cabin was very clean. If you plan on playing pool make sure you bring your own chalk lol! We didn’t use the swimming pool but did make The short drive over to check it out. Depth is 3-5 feet and is in excellent condition. Door dash will deliver to the cabin and the trip down the mountain is quick to some great local eats. Preachers BBQ is open Thursday-Saturday only and is very close + delicious. Take the back roads to Gatlinburg if you want a nice country drive without all the pigeon forge traffic. Highly recommend legacy mountain for zip lining. It’s only about 10 minutes away and can’t say enough great things about their staff and the zip lining experience. Dollywood is very close to the cabin as well and is now one of my families favorite theme parks every. Amazing coasters! Thank you to the owners for an easy going, lovely, and beautiful experience.

Great Views
Family of four recently stayed 5 nights and found this cabin to be very nice and well equipped. The kids loved the upstairs area to play games and pool. Location is great and close to the main attractions in the area. We have stayed many different places over the years around the Pigeon Forge area and found the views from this cabin to be some of the best. The fireworks from Dollywood could be clearly seen from the top deck and were a nice way to end each day. The roads up to the cabin are not as bad as some of the reviewers state, but we are used to steep roads. The property owners are very attentive, and quick with responses to any questions or comments we had. Highly recommend this place and would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay
The view from this cabin is spectacular! My husband and I, along with our 18 year old daughter and her friend, stayed 7 nights. The first drive up the mountain was a bit nerve-wracking, but after the second or third trip, it became much easier. The advice in the listing to not arrive after dark the first time is good advice-the road is twisty and a bit narrow and steep in places. After getting comfortable with it, the total drive from the bottom to the cabin takes around 7 minutes. There was enough parking at the cabin for our oversized F150, but I don’t think another vehicle would have fit. Two smaller vehicles might fit. My husband and I slept in the king bedroom downstairs, and it was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The girls stayed upstairs, and I’m assuming it was just as comfortable. The upper floor is spacious, and my husband had a lot of fun on the video game console, which had many games from our youth (Tecmobowl was his favorite!). The check-in process was very easy, and communication with the hosts was excellent. They were very responsive to messages. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes, pots and skillets. We made spaghetti one night, and I had to get creative with aluminum foil to make a pan for baking the garlic bread, so if you plan on baking anything you will need to bring your own pan. The cabin has everything else you need for cooking- spatulas and spoons, can opener, toaster, microwave, ice-cream scoop, coffee-maker, utensils. Eating out every meal gets pricey, so we were glad to have the option to cook for ourselves. There’s a Walmart, Kroger and Publix within a 30 minute drive. We could not find any restaurants that would deliver up the mountain, so come prepared. Dollywood is a short drive from the bottom of the mountain, and Gatlinburg is also only a short drive away. Our GPS kept trying to take us up a very steep narrow road (Timber-something) with loose gravel as a “short-cut” when leaving the cabin each day, but we ignored it and proceeded down the way we arrived, and it only added a few minutes to each of our trips. There is a baby gate at the top of the spiral staircase, but no lock on the door to the upper deck, so i would be uneasy leaving smaller children unattended upstairs. The hot tub was heavenly after a long day of walking. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
