I cannot stress how much I do not recommend this hotel! Positives: air conditioning worked very well, the bathroom amenities were sufficient and the view from the room was nice Negatives: There was no staff available to help check-in. Guests are expected to call someone over the phone to check in, and the key cards for the room are left out on the reception desk to pick up yourself; How does the hotel know who is coming in and out of their rooms? The room had dirt on the walls and light switch, the bed sheets were covered in stains, cockroaches ran across the lobby and other bugs were in the room. The motion sensor light at the door had been turning on by itself all night.

I should’ve trusted the other reviews

I cannot stress how much I do not recommend this hotel! I only ended up staying for 1/4 nights that I booked here. There was no staff available for check-in, at the reception desk or anywhere else. Guests are expected to call someone over the phone to check in, and the key cards for the room are left out on the reception desk to pick up yourself - this did not make me feel safe; How does the hotel know who is coming in and out of their rooms? My room was very dirty - dirt on the walls and light switch, the bed sheets covered in stains. Cockroaches running around the lobby and the room. The light in front of the door had been turning on by itself all night so I couldn’t sleep. The only positives were that the air conditioning worked very well, the bathroom amenities were sufficient and the view from the room was nice

Very helpful staff

You can get help from the front desk staff in almost everything. He explained to me in very details on how to get to those close scenic spots. He also introduced me some good restaurants nearby.

Hotel in old Seogwipo

Friendly staff but speak limited English. Good value. Rooms are ok and beds were actually comfortable. Nice window view of lush greenery. Dim lighting in bathroom and towels are small. There was a strange smell around the same time everyday but then it would go away. Not sure of cause. You would definitely need a rental car or driver to get to newer parts of Seogwipo and areas of Jeju.

There was a problem at checked in. Service was slow, there is only 1 person at the receptionist, handling so many things. after check in, everything is fine. hotel room was decent and clean. If you don't have a car, it will probably be troublesome to travel around or to find food.

Nice hotel

I really liked the hotel. Overall, it's so clean, room is big and comfortable, staffs are super friendly and helpful... But if there is the only thing I think it would be better for the hotel if they can speak English. It was ok for me cuz I could understand some Korean, but I think the hotel is perfect even for foreigners, so they should have Wnglish available for foreigners like me. Other than that, my mom and I loved the hotel. Perfect for family trip, and for solo travelers who want to explore the countryside side of Jeju. There are many good local restaurants which are about 8~10 mins walking. There's one Black pork BBQ but I dont rememeber the name, it's painted in black, close to New Kyungnam Hotel, everyone should go there. We even came back to that restaurant twice in our 2 day staying there.

It was a pretty good stay at Poong Gyung. Convenient location, extremely near to attractions such as Cheonjiyeon Falls. Except for the small leak at the basin area, overall cleanliness and room was good. Would love to visit again!
