Hotels in Santa Cruz

"The hotel is right next to a major road. The actual rooms and hotel look nothing like the pictures. We were told our reservation wasn’t confirmed when we first got there and that a room wasn’t ready for check in. I tried to cancel the stay and kindly requested a refund from the hotel since we decided to change to a different hotel. They denied the refund. The night there was terrible. There was no hot water and absolutely no hotel staff besides the unfriendly housekeeper. -Nunca intentamos quedarnos gratis. Solo nos quedamos una noche porque las condiciones del hotel no eran adecuadas y no se podía permanecer ahí. Por eso nos fuimos y reservamos en otro lugar. El reembolso que solicitamos es únicamente por las noches que no utilizamos, no por la noche que sí nos quedamos. Es una solicitud justa considerando que no podíamos seguir hospedándonos bajo esas condiciones. Esperamos que puedan reconsiderarlo. "

"This is not a house to stay in for a vacation. While there was parking out front, WiFi, AC, and hot water, and the living room is spacious, the kitchen and main bathroom were in disrepair and not clean. The bedroom and bed smelled of mold and mildew. We had to ask for towels and were given two worn, stained towels for a one week stay. No washing machine, despite stating there was one. But even worse was the noise; the adjoining house had 3 small dogs that barked nonstop from 6 am until 10 pm, along with half a dozen loose dogs on the street constantly barking outside. The house across the street (the caretaker's brother) played an extremely loud stereo off and on throughout the day and evening. The two adjacent houses also played loud music off and on each day and evening. There was no relaxing in this house, "
