Potential to be better

First impression externally...the property is very nice, in a quiet area. Due to delays at the airport the host agreed to leave the key for a contactless check in. Upon entering the property it looked nice on the upper floor. Inspection of the kitchen found to be well equipped although musty mould smells in all cupboards. The bedrooms are well position on the lower floor but cobwebs and loose fittings visible.The bathroom was filthy and toilet very stained....don't think it has been cleaned properly for a long time. I did contact the host who offered to send a cleaner to resolve but we had already settled in and this would cause disruption I opted to clean it myself. Also the TV was missing in the main bedroom and bath panel hanging off. The photos on the advert are old and a tad misleading of it's present condition. We stayed 11 nights and no mid stay clean or bed linen change was offered. We have had both these on shorter rentals. In general we had a fabulous holiday regardless, the location is rather isolated but we knew this and hired a car so it wasn't a problem. Was a good base for exploring northern Tenerife. The villa would be fabulous with a bit of a refresh and a good clean.
