i love el tunco

William the bartender is one of the nicest people in El tunco, over all all the people there were wonderful. the view of the waves is perfect for any surfer, close walk to town. the place could use some tlc but for the location food and friendliness it is worth it. Best for couple

great location but gang members were our neighbour

Great 5 days staying at the hotel over New Years! Staff was great, location was amazing and food was not too bad. However, our last night found us awake at midnight to loud music in the room next to us, that woke the whole hotel. We asked them to turn it down and quickly realized these individuals were gang related. It kept on till 7 am with no interjections from the security on site. I can understand not wanting to get involved with those people but the hotel should do a better job of weeding out the bad clients! The next morning, everyone knew who they were. We quickly packed up and left!

No wifi

Wifi not working, they did not seem to have plans to repair it. This is not acceptable for a hotel that cost 4x as much as other hotels in the area. You pay for the view and decoration. Loud music from neighboors starting at 8AM until the night. Very nice pool, variable service. If you dont care about decoration, dont make reservation online and go ask directly to hotels / hostels in the block. Most hotels are on the same main street.

Hotel is nice But the people workers are so Foucus so into there cellphones they don't help you with the food you has to go and talk to them No wifi at the rooms The pool has to much beach my housban short change color after used the pool No I don't recommend this hotel

Overall was a nice stay. Playa El. Tunco is great for surfers, I saw many of them. I felt very safe while going out to eat in the area. Has secured entrance.

Not what I expected

I had high expectations of this hotel, but ended up a little disappointed. Although our room had a small balcony with a good view, the hotel needs to do a lot of repairs in standard rooms: the terrace railings are loose, they need to completely renovate the bathroom and plumbing, the floor is worn, and the waiters don´t know the menu and all this is just the beginning. The hotel rate is not according to the room that is received

Average hotel... Not the better price/quality ratio. Bad overall maintenance... Baddly wall paint in the room, weard noises on the roof and horrible pool cleaning and maintenance, my wife injured her feet because of it.

lovely and relaxing~

due to some flight changes beyond our control my sister and i found ourselves with a 24 hour layover in el salvador. thankfully, we knew where to go-- the surf mecca of el tunco. after looking at places to stay and reaching out we found one room at hotel tekuani kal. we worked with katherine, who truly went above and beyond with helping us. i am so appreciative of her. the hotel is beautiful. the views amazing. we stayed in an inner room (no ocean view) and it was cozy and comfortable. i think one reviewer mentioned salty water for brushing teeth? they provided a bottled water by the sink to help with this. the staff was sweet and helpful. i would stay here again for sure. katherine arranged our transportation-- a super kind local surfer named Eduardo picked us up and took us back to the airport. the town of el tunco is simply sweet. the people are kind. again, lots of thanks to katherine and the staff of hotel tekuani kal. the art and sculptures around the property were also amazing! G R A T I T U D E !
