This is a great place to stay. Excellent location downtown, close to all landmarks and iconic places. Beautiful decorations. Rooms are spacious, well equipped, comfy beds and pillows. Really good quality of towels and bedding. Huge and full bathroom. Has own parking and restaurant.
Terrific location, easy walking to everything in the Historic Centro area. Room was huge and very comfortable.
Very little English spoken, but that's ok; this is not a typical destination spot for foreigners & a good opportunity to practice our Spanish! Staff was very friendly & did their best to help answer our questions. A great bonus was the self parking underground garage......just perfect
We were walking by Hotel Margarita and stopped because there was a beautiful painting inside. As we admired it, Ana stepped out and invited us in. She showed us one of the beautiful rooms and the gorgeous rooftop terrace (amazing views!). The hotel was beautiful and Ana was so very welcoming. We told her we'd come back that night for drinks on the terrace (and we did).
We drove to Xilitla the next day with the intention of spending two nights. We decided to make it one and return to SLP on Sunday night, to stay at Hotel Margarita.
Unfortunately, and this is why I gave 4 and not 5 stars, they did not have our reservation (I booked and paid for it via the Hotels.com app). We arrived at 9 pm, to a closed hotel. We called and the night watchman let us in. He had no record of our reservation and said the hotel was closed. Instead of turning us away, he called his manager and was able to get us into a room. Sadly, the hot water wasn't on so we had to take cold showers.
I appreciate that staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. However, this is an issue that needs to be corrected. As I mentioned, I had paid for the reservation but at check out, they asked for payment.
I want to add that we had booked 2 with breakfast but there was 3 of us and they comped the extra breakfast as well as the pan dulce.
This hotel is centrally located, it's beautiful, and the staff was wonderful (especially Ana). However, this issue with Hotels.com needs to be corrected.
