LAKE LURE WILL NOT BE OPEN FOR RECREATIONAL BOATING, FISHING, OR SWIMMING IN THE 2025 SEASON. Although the lake is closed and lowered while Hurricane Helene cleanup continues, there is much that our beautiful foothills area has to offer. LAKE ADGER, SHUMONT LAKE, LAKE LANIER, and MIRROR LAKE suffered no damage, so homes and those lakes are available. BALD MOUNTAIN LAKE in the resort is open and beautiful. We are welcoming guests in over 60 beautiful homes to use as a "home base" for visiting nearby towns, restaurants, shops, hiking areas, and seasonal special events in Lake Lure, Hendersonville, Asheville, Black Mountain, Saluda, and Tryon. Golf is open to the public at Rumbling Bald, and local area wineries, breweries, trails, and music are within an hour's drive. Many of the Chimney Rock shops are set up at the Tryon International Equestrian Center Pavilion. Chimney Rock Park is now open!

Beautifully decorated in light soothing tones, this lovely cottage offers two bedrooms (one King and one Queen), a full bath with towel warmer, a separate outdoor bath /shower (for seasonal use), and an open plan kitchen and living area.

Luxuriously furnished to make your stay as comfortable as possible, Writer’s Block is an unforgettable place to relax and unwind.

Whether you spend the day browsing the quaint art towns of Saluda and Tryon or engage in some of the numerous outdoor activities that abound in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Writer’s Block is the perfect place to retreat to at the end of the day. Enjoy the long-range mountain views over a sundowner on the deck, fire up the grill, roast marshmallows around the fire pit, or feel nature surround you as you take an outdoor bath amongst the treetops. Please note: the outdoor tub is closed from November 15 - April 15.
