No Pool, No Gym, Unsanitary

Capital hotel was not great at all. Their amenities showed they had a pool, gym and other hood and refreshing places to go to, so I booked it. I went there.. they said pool is at the other hotel they own and we would have to tell them if we want to go there every.single.time. That was so inconvenient, so we said maybe whatever, we won’t use it I guess. Next was the room.. we walk in, and it smells old and musky.. I started coughing. Bed is a bit hard, I was tired and we chose to ignore it saying “we get what we pay for.. cheap”. After I decided to take a shower after a long day. I turn on the shower and it stinks.. smells like sewer.. I was hoping it would go away, but it did not the entire time.. so that entire time I was sniffing that digesting order into my system. I came out of the shower and was upset.. told my brother this isn’t it and I can’t stay here for almost a week for this kind of thing.. I was gonna let it slide. So same night we contacted Hotel.com and the agent was so helpful and understanding after letting them know we can check out same night to get a new hotel. Capital hotel didn’t even offer a new room or any other courtesy. It was upsetting. Glad we got a refund back from through Hotel.com because Capital Hotel didn’t want to refund and only later tried to offer other things after we had to look for a hotel at 3am. We left same night and the front desk only ask if we’re leaving and we can come back at 8am to try and get a refund. Ugh.

Sucky dog

Water from faucets is salty as f*%#. Charged me $70 for late check out. One English channel on tv. Old but ok if there is nowhere else to stay.

Bad service. Not helpful. Everything costs money

The air conditioner was dripping the water from day one to final day. Nobody came to fix. Borrow the iron - US$5, Rent a safety box- US$5, extend the stay after 12pm - only allow to 3 pm and it costs US$30.

Looks can be deceiving

Americans looking to stay here, don't expect your typical hotel experience. I'll start with some cons: -Any amenity comes with a cost (iron, extra pillows, extra blanket, etc). -The wifi is miserable at best. When we talked to the staff about it, they didn't seem concerned and nothing changed. -The rooms are extremely small. If you're traveling with more than two people or with kids, keep looking. -Not a picturesque location. The hotel is imbedded into a neighborhood across from an abandoned bowling center and several homes. Within walking distance to the town center, but certainly not a waterfront resort. Pros: -For the most part, the staff was helpful and friendly. They ensured we received our breakfast and were very polite. -The vintage look and feel of the hotel made it more authentic to Saipan. World travelers will enjoy this hotel, business travelers may not. -While a small room, it was well refurbished and very clean. Air conditioning worked wonderfully and no problems whatsoever with the shower or toilet.

Great Location!

Girly/Girlie was very friendly and helpful. This place is minutes walking from everything in Garapan, i.e. the Fiesta Hotel, Himawari, etc. It would be nice if the hotel offered an airport pick-up service.

fair value for the price

I have stayed here in the past. Its a small functional room that is excellent for someone on business who is spending the majority of the day outside. The TV offers 4 channels only one is in English but the WiFi is good so if you have a computer the options are there. Lots of hot water and within easy walking distance of the sites.

Capital Hotel Saipan

Convenient hotel for one-night layover. Clean, simple, nothing fancy. Comfortable bed. AC worked well. Friendly staff. Wi-Fi was somewhat problematic connecting initially, but worked ok. Rude, noisy smokers congregate in the courtyard area and smoke tends to filter under the door. The door is also thin and the sound of noisy, undisciplined brat children of other guests was annoying. Also expect to be awakened early by crowing roosters in the neighborhood. Immediate neighborhood seemed a bit sketchy but didn't feel there was any security problem. About 2-4 block walk to shopping and dining. Tap water was too salty to drink.

Great hotel for family

Much better than our expected. The suite is terrific for family with two rooms, two double beds. The location of the hotel is good. We will definitely choose this hotel if visiting Saipan in future.

Horrible

Poor customer service, no parking, room is small and moldy and cigarette smell. Shower is super hot or super cold and the shower head holder is broken. They shut the power of our room and didnt asked us if we had food in the refrigerator or any perishable that could have rot.

Clean, fast internet, close to everything

I stayed here with a business colleague when all of the resorts were sold out. The rooms were clean. The shower was hot. The air con worked great. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were soft. It was also very quiet. The internet was fast and reliable in the room. We stayed in rooms 201 and 209 - mini suites with kitchenette and separate bedroom. As a woman, I felt safe and everything was in walking distance. The locals were improving and paving the road in front of the hotel, which when finished will be a plus. They didn't start work until after 8 am so sleep was easy. There was easy parking if you have a rental car. I was very satisfied with all of the basic amenities for the price. I highly recommend this hotel for under $100 per night.

Bed needs an upgrade!!!!

I got to the hotel late and found the gate locked, a secured hotel. I havent seen that in a long time. I checked in and the lady walked with me to show me the room. You can order breakfast before midnight and have it delivered to the room in the morning. The bed is what killed it. I was tired and it was like sleeping on hardwood floor. It was a thin matress placed on panel, if you are over 200lbs, you are bound for a rough night. I checked out early the next morning to notice anything else.
