The main house sleeps 12/14 is 400 square metres on two floors.
(Annexe sleeps 4 more - description below) Total 16/18 guests.

In the main house there are 6 double bedrooms, 2 with an extra bed and each with ensuite bath or shower rooms . Oak beamed ceilings and fired earth tiles throughout ground floor. Fully equipped open plan kitchen, 2 sitting rooms, dining room, utility room and 2 halls. 120 square metres of open terrace with barbecue. The dining room seats 20 and the kitchen is large and efficient enough to cater for a group taking the whole house.
Satellite television, good internet connection, ping pong, pétanque, games area with football, badminton, 12m x 6m heated swimming pool and open views of the gardens and park The swimming pool is open from April to October, it is covered by a large structure allowing for swimming in all weathers.
Secluded garden and ample parking, access to 5 acres of landscaped parkland.

Linen and towels provided, the beds are prepared.
Beach and swimming pool towels not provided.
Weekly cleaning of bedrooms included.
In he main house there are, 3 double and 8 single beds with hypoallergenic latex mattresses. l please see bedroom layout for complete info.

In the annexe barn there are 2 bedrooms each sleeping 2 per room with a private sitting room. There is a shared bathroom with shower, bath and wc.

In total the property can cater for 16/18 comfortably.

Situated in a small rural hamlet 3km from the charming town of St Saëns and the magnificent forest of Eawy, the largest beech forest in Europe. 1 hour 45 from Calais, 1 hour Le Havre, 40 minutes Dieppe and clean unspoilt beaches.

Family Gathering

Our Canadian add UK family met here for a much anticipated reunion. This is a gorgeous property that provided plenty of space for ten adults and six children. The house is lovely with a well stocked kitchen, lots of comfortable sitting areas, and a great patio where we sat outside for meals and evening chats. The grounds are beautiful and we really enjoyed the big pool. Kate was a lovely, helpful host. All in all a great stay!

Memorable family experience with excellent host

Our family had an incredible, memorable stay in the Normandy region, steeped in history, which was based out of Kate’s lovely estate and enriched by her kind facilitation and personal involvement with the welcoming local community. We stayed in the main house, which provided ample private sleeping areas and lovely communal areas for cooking, eating, and socializing (both inside and outside) by our 11 adult family members. The highlight of our stay was meeting with some of the local residents to share remembrances of some poignant experiences from World War II, and Kate went above and beyond to help us make connections and share our stories. Kate has a wealth of knowledge about the local area and the rich history enshrined there, and we are grateful for these deep and personal connections. We will be forever indebted to Kate for her enriching contributions to our experience. We used Kate’s estate as a home base, which was well situated for exploring the greater Normandy region and returning to a tranquil spot for the evenings. The gardens are quite beautiful, and we wish we’d had more time to enjoy the pool and the grounds for playing family games. We highly recommend this estate as a wonderful gathering place for families and friends, whether it be to explore the region, enjoy a peaceful respite, or both. We would love to return to enjoy more time there. Again, we thank Kate for her warm hospitality.

Family holiday

The property was ideal for the wide age range of our group with areas for relaxation and quiet and a fabulous covered pool which was popular with the children. Very well equipped and comfortable. Good communication with the host and seamless check in and out. Altogether a really great holiday venue.

Great Family Holiday

A great place for a family holiday - all 17 of us! Lots of space for children to run and play - the pool was a HUGE favourite with the kids and adults. Super fully equipped kitchen and dining areas inside and out big enough for us all. Not 5-star luxury, but for converted farm buildings in rural France it was comfortable and welcoming. Thanks Kate.

Great House for a group.

We rented this house for 6 couples and children of varying ages. There was plenty of room for everyone - no sense of being overcrowded at all. Hardly saw the children as they spent most of the time in the pool. Good set up for mass catering.

Family Holiday at Les Ecuries

We were courteously met by the owner Kate Blacker on our arrival and given a conducted tour of the property and grounds. All bedrooms were en suite, comfortable - bed linen and towels provided - and met the needs of our extended family. The modern kitchen in both the large and small house was well equipped. Large dining room and comfortable lounges. We were fortunate with the weather and all meals were taken on the large patio area outside the large house - bbq facilities provided. The grounds of the property were well maintained with flower beds and large areas for the children and adults to enjoy games of rounders and cricket. A highlight of the property was the heated outdoor enclosed swimming pool. Locally there were interesting villages and manor houses and forests to visit. The property is within easy reach of the channel tunnel and ferries. An exceptional location for a family holiday and thoroughly recommended.

Super week end dans une maison très agréable

Nous avons passé un merveilleux week end familial dans la propriété de Kate. La maison est très agréable et très confortable ( nous étions 18 dont 4 enfants) avec une mention spéciale pour la cuisine ( très conviviale et très bien équipée). En plus de la piscine la maison dispose d'un grand espace extérieur où petits et grands ont pu s'ébattre et courir. Nous rêvons déjà d'y retourner. Merci beaucoup à Kate pour son accueil ( Kate est très réactive et très arrangeante)

A lovely slice of Norman tranquility!

We had a lovely stay at Kate's place, which was ideally suited for a big group of 8 adults and 6 kids under 5. The domain in which the house is situated is superb, with lots of space for kids to play. The weather wasn't great, so the indoor covered pool was a great asset in that regard! The house itself is large and well-equipped, especially the kitchen. The floors upstairs were very creaky and the showers are a bit dated, but that was our only observation in an otherwise fantastic place. Kate herself lives on the domain, which was completely fine for our group but is something for visitors to be aware of. The barn, which has three bedrooms and separate living space, was perfect for one of our families, but is separated by Kate's house in between and is a 5 minute walk away from the main house. Again not a problem in itself, but something to be aware of if you are travelling with small children who would sleep there in the evening -- we needed a mobile app baby monitor as the signal of the normal device did not travel. Big thank you to Kate for her warm welcome and responsiveness, we very much enjoyed our stay.

Excellent séjour pour 4 générations

Très agréable séjour dans ce domaine pour notre famille de 19 personnes, de 1 à 91 ans, répartie sur les trois sites, permettant une vie diurne et nocturne variable et adaptée à chaque génération. Propreté impeccable, agencements charmants, sobres et efficaces. Kate est accueillante, gaie, chaleureuse et disponible. Entre vaches et chevaux, l'environnement champêtre est calme et revigorant. Les espaces communs (terrasse, patio, cuisine, salons) sont vastes et agréablement organisés. Le parc est très grand et bien entretenu, avec une petite note un peu sauvage très sympathique. L'équipement est suffisant pour des séjours de vacances. Les chambres et salles de bain fonctionnelles (à noter: deux chambres en enfilade = 3 lits simples). La piscine est parfaite, grande, protégée et chauffée, confortable. A noter: s'il y a bien une chambre accessible aux PMR, la piscine est éloignée du bâtiment principal et s'y rendre en chaise roulante (via chemin caillouté et gazon) ou pour une personne affaiblie sur le plan moteur est fort ardu . Saint-Saëns, tout proche, regorge de bonnes adresses (on recommande vivement la boutique "Le Verger de la Varenne" et le boucher qui est juste en face: la Boucherie de Centre sur la place principale).

Un lieu idéal pour se retrouver entre amis

Nous avons organisé un séjour entre amis avec des enfants. La propriété est parfait pour recevoir tout ce beau monde (15 adultes et 4 enfants) avec plusieurs espaces grand, on ne se sent pas à l étroit. Salle de bain dans toutes les chambres (vrai plus) grande table pour recevoir au moins 20 adultes et cerise sur le gâteau il y a deux bâtisses donc ceux qui souhaitent le calme peuvent aller dans la petite maison. Les propriétaires sont plus que charmant à l écoute et toujours disponibles ils vous font sentir comme chez vous Et la piscine très très grande chauffe et couverte c était la cerise sur le gâteau

Heerlijke week

Met 18 vrienden hadden we een heerlijke week bij Les Ecuries. Het huis is prachtig, ruim, de kapel en het tweede huisje van 6p maken het ideaal voor kleine gezinnen binnen je vriendengroep (we hadden twee jonge kinderen mee). St Saens is om de hoek en heeft alle voorzieningen. Kate was supergastvrij en snel te bereiken. Het zou fijn zijn om eens terug te gaan!
