One of the most beautiful beaches in Istria - Cisterna beach is only 2.5 km away from the house.
The beautiful Villa Monkodonja is located in a sunny area, immersed in the entchanting sea air, surrounded only with
mediterannean nature, quiet and peaceful.

The completely fenced garden has a large pool, sunbeds, and a terrace with a large dining table and grill.
The modern, fully equipped interior is completely air-conditioned. There are two bedrooms - a master bedroom with a large, comfortable king size bed, and a bedroom with a bunk bed. The living room sofa can be used for sleeping which makes the capacity of the house 4 + 2.

Free WLAN is ensured, and there are plenty of secure parking places.

Lovely and Peaceful

This is a nice conversion in a rural location but not too far from Rovinj and from the beachfront areas outside of Rovinj (walkable in 30 minutes or drivable in 5). Very nice outdoor area and small pool, reasonably comfortable interior. A mix of old decor / furnishing and modern but providing all that is required for a self-catering break away in the peaceful countryside. Gordan, the 'next-door' manager was very helpful in spite of language barriers (but not intrusive) - though we needed to call him on the phone when we arrived as he did not appear to have received our messages en-route but he came immediately to welcome us. He also immediately organised to replace the TV which was not working -(likely taken out by electrical storm the previous week). There were things that could have been better done (generally small things, batteries for clocks, gas lighter empty, light bulbs out, fridge makes a lot of odd noises! and there were a lot of flies (but there are at home in Italy at present - it seems to be the season of flies). The nearby pigs and donkeys only added to the occasion and were not at all a problem for us or our two dogs, who were entirely at home within 12 hours - having a functional and secure outdoor space for them was brilliant. Overall, we had a very nice week of peace and quiet. if you want to be in the bustle of Rovinj or within walking distance, then this would not be for you, but if you have a car or like a good walk, it is ideal. Air-con a plus!

Very Disappointing stay and not to be recommended.

We were very disappointed in lots of ways by this rental. The owner spoke no English which is not what we were told when renting the property. This made it very difficult to address any of the problems. For example, we had agreed online the day before that we could check in a little early as my wife was unwell, but on arrival we were sent away for 2 hours as the villa wasn’t ready. There were a LOT of issues with the property. The villa is only the small ‘pool-house‘ you see in the pictures. The larger main building overlooking is part of the Donkey Sanctuary that surrounds the villa. The building is quite new but the quality is poor. Doors don’t open properly and there are ‘gaps’ around things. The fire is held in place with a bit of 4x2 wedged in. There was only one socket in the kitchen area which is used for extractor fan, kettle, coffee machine, grille, and microwave. The tableware provided was very basic and some broken items were still in the cupboards. The old mini-stereo only played FM radio. We were only given 2 hand towels and 3 medium towels for both the pool and indoor use. There was no bathroom mat so the tiled floor was slippery when wet. We only had two pillow cases so had to use a second pillow without a case. There was a very large mirror behind the wardrobe which was badly smashed when we pulled it out. The second bedroom was extremely small and cluttered with furniture, including a random unwanted cot which almost filled the only open space. The lounge furniture filled the room and was not very comfortable. The Smart TV and AC did work well. Now to the worst part. As soon as you stepped outside you were hit by the smell of horses/donkeys which surround you on all sides. In fact, when we arrived there was fresh dung just the other side of the fence, about 6 feet away from the pool. Then you noticed the flies which that plagued you ALL THE TIME. We never once tried to eat outside as they were very annoying even just sitting around the pool. In the late afternoon they were terrible and would descend on you within a second if you got in the pool. The sun loungers where cheap and cracked in multiple places. One gave way and broke in half as I sat on it. You can only sit on them, so you can’t lay face down unless its on the stone paving. There was no outside shower or grill/BBQ as mentioned in the advert. A cloths drier had many broken rods with lots of rusty screws. This villa was not worth the price we paid.

Sunny Week in June

A great little villa, perfect for the two of us. Very private with a cute little pool. Rovinj was a short drive away and there were lots of restaurants nearby. A brilliant relaxing week away.

Das Haus war leider nicht 100%sauber.Es fehlt auch an elementarem Küchenequikment.Das Bett löst sich am Kopfteil auf und schwarze Fussel beschmutzen dadurch die Bettwäsche. Die Klobrille ist lose und die Auflagen für die Sonnenliegen so schmutzig und zerrissen,dass man sie nicht benutzen kann.Das Plus für das Haus liegt bei seiner Nähe zu Rovinj und dem guten Preis. Würden es aber nicht mehr mieten

Wir wurden von Gordon, der nebenan die Farm führt, empfangen und bekamen eine kleine Führung. Er spricht zwar kein deutsch und englisch, aber die Kommunikation per SMS hat wunderbar geklappt.Im Haus ist alles schon sehr abgewohnt und unsere beiden 15jährigen Teenager haben in die Doppelstockbetten nicht gepasst, das Bett ist nämlich nur 180x70 und die Wohnzimmercouch ist auch nicht sehr groß. Es war sauber, man wohnt aber neben einer Farm und das ganze Haus und auch draußen ist alles voller Fliegen. Das war schon nervig. Es waren Küchenutensilien da, kein Toaster, nur ein Sandwichmaker, und das übrige Geschirr und Besteck war einfach sehr wenig. Der Geschirrspüler ist nur für 2 Personen und lief demzufolge 2 mal am Tag. Man ist sehr weit ab von Strand und Stadt, man benötigt auf jeden Fall ein Auto.Das Highlight hier war natürlich der Pool, der war sauber und auch die Liegen waren toll. Die überdachte Terasse mit den Holzbänken war ausreichend. Alles in allem war das Haus okay, aber den Preis, den wir dafür bezahlt haben, absolut nicht wert.

Das Haus ist sehr schön der Vermieter nett und hilfsbereit.Leider spricht er nicht so gut englisch was das ganze etwas erschwert hat aber dennoch war es eine schöne Zeit und und ein tolles Erlebnis.

Wunderbarer Rückzugsort

Wir als 4-köpfige Familie mit Hund haben die Zeit in diesem Haus sehr genossen. Das Grundstück ist eingezäunt, sodass unsere Hündin sich frei bewegen konnte. Jeden Tag übers Mäuerchen die schönen Esel, Schweine und Schafe zu beobachten war ein wunderbarer Nebeneffekt und wir hatten trotzdem unsere Privatssphäre. Der Pool war das absolute Highligt! Wir sind glücklich, so eine schöne Zeit dort gehabt zu haben!

Wer Ruhe sucht ist hier richtig

Wunderschöner Aufenthalt in einer mit Liebe gestalteten Unterkunft. Die Ausstattung der Küche war super! Es war einfach Alles da, von der Kaffeemaschine bis zu den Grillanzündern. Die Esel und Pferde hinterm Haus waren eine Attraktion für die Kinder und haben uns nicht gestört. Der Pool und Aussenbereich sind Top. Nach 10 Minuten Autofahrt ist man am Meer und in der Stadt. Wahlweise auch super mit dem Rad zu erreichen. Der auf den Bildern nicht abgebildete Grill ist Vorhanden. Die Kommunikation mit dem Hausherren ist auf englisch mit etwas Geduld gut möglich, er ist immer erreichbar und sofort zur Stelle. Alles in Allem sehr zu empfehlen wenn man Urlaub ohne andere Urlauber sucht.
