2/10 Terrible

Nope
We drove over 500 miles and arrived at night, armed with food, games, books, and art supplies, expecting a quiet getaway. We’d been told there was no wifi, but were fine with that. The house seemed clean and tidy. We unpacked and went to bed, thinking everything was good. We were wrong. There was a pile of garbage the size of a car in the garage when we arrived that was not picked up for our entire stay. The house reeked so badly, we had to leave during the day just to get away from the smell. There were no screens on the windows, so opening them to air the house out led to combatting the multitude of bugs that came in. There was a massive mound of feces in front of the door. There were no cleaning products in the house -no broom, dustpan, nothing- so we had to buy those ourselves to clean, just to be able to walk outside without stepping in bat feces. The grills were rusted out, falling apart, and unusable; someone should have hauled them off long ago. There were no bowls, bakeware, toaster, or even pans that weren’t somehow all convex on the bottom. Carpenter ants were everywhere inside the house. We got ticks whenever we stepped a foot in the grass. Our last night we noticed scratching inside the walls, which is expected when the caretakers treat it like a dumpster. Management did refund a portion of our money, but this house should not be listed to rent. It’s a health and safety hazard.
