I had booked, with an advance of 10 days, one night to stay with my girlfriend, who was six months pregnant. We arrived to the hotel and the receptionist told us that "they had a problem" (impossible not to suspect they overbook), and they do not have a room for us. Quickly, she gave us money for a taxi and try to send us to another hotel. The most irrational of all was that, the day before, they had taken the money for the stay out of my credit card! My intention was to pay in cash. The voucher said I would pay when I get to the hotel in local currency. It never says the hotel would take the total of the reservation out of my credit card. After spending an hour arguing with the receptionist and the manager by phone, she agreed to cancel the credit card charge the next day and pay for the night in other hotel.
