Very quiet setting. The house is set slightly on a hill directly across the one lane road with a beautiful view of the river. I think 3 cars drove by in one afternoon. And there's a tree swing on rope just like I had when I was a kid. And yes, I swang in it. I recommend arriving your first time before dark, or you may have a difficult time finding it. We truly enjoyed our stay. We had everything we needed. Hardly any of the closests were locked, so you could get to the extra light bulbs, paper towels, soap, etc. It was just nice to be trusted that you wouldn't steal anything. Most everyone locks all closests. If it was mentioned on VRBO, I missed it, but in the basement is a pool table, foosball table, bicycle, and full bath. The bugs were pretty active, so take bug spray with you.
The host was so easy to contact and very nice. We couldn't get Direct TV to come on, so we contacted her. She called immediately and talked us through a couple things. When that didn't work she had support on the phone in 5 minutes to get it fixed.
We definitely would stay here again.
I don't like caves, but don't miss Luray Caverns! It was beautiful and so clean!
Also, if you like real Italian food, don't miss Il Vesuvio Italian Restaurant in Luray. It is beyond delicious!!! And, my friends made me go to Royal Zaika Grill & Bar in Front Royal, which is an Indian restaurant. The owner and staff were so nice!!! It was my first time eating Indian food, and honestly, I didn't like any of it. It'
