Terrible breakfast

Receptionists were very friendly and helpful at the hotel. But breakfast was terrible. The members of staff at breakfast were tired, unhappy and unhelpful. The male member of staff said in Russian’ I can’t wait for everyone to be out of here”. They were moving slowly, not filling food, cups and plates on time. I had to ask for cups, plates, food and wait for everything for a while. But that’s their work. Staff should make sure that breakfast is available for everyone. Staff don’t care.

The hotel is located right beside one of the biggest buildings in Riga so it's easy to get your bearings if you're walking. It's VERY close to Old town and all the markets. And there is a nice restaurant right in the hotel.

Hotel in a perfect location,not far from old town and many attractions.Nice and clean,great room. However-had to keep asking for a cup in my room for a coffee,as it doesn’t get replaced and if you want more than one drink-you’ve had it as 1 sachet of coffee per day!! Also not a big enough dining area-if you ask where to go when it’s full-staff in restaurant just shrug their shoulders-I heard that the banquet room upstairs can be used-but it was locked. Would be 5 stars but for the things I’ve mentioned.

Billed as a spa hotel I would have expected to be able to use the facilities free of charge as I was a paying guest but there was an additional charge. Apparently there was only a sauna and a steam room of which I used neither. The room was OK but the quilt didn't cover the whole bed so we had to get the spare out of the wardrobe and it didn't have a cover on it. When I asked at reception for a cover they did immediately send one to the room for me to put on myself. The breakfast was adequate and top marks to the hotel for opening the restaurant early on the Sunday for those taking part in the marathon weekend.

Great location, walkable to old town and the market. Breakfast was great. My only concern is that the bedroom re add on dusty, the window closing so dusty. My ring fell on the floor so I have to look for it, when I moved the side table, discovered that the room needs vacuuming thick dust under the bed and side table. If bed is being move and vacuum it even on a weekly basis, it won’t accumulate such dust. Thank you
