WHY UpYonda? Where doing NOTHING is doing SOMETHING...
It is experiencing a disconnect from the stress of everyday life and reconnecting with yourself, as a couple, with your family, with friends, or simply by yourself. We all need time to recharge and energize and it is this experience we wish for our guests.
It is a paddle in one of our complimentary use watercrafts - kayaks, canoe, or paddle boat - exploring an undiscovered shoreline. It is savoring freshly caught crabs when in season right from our private dock or throwing in a fishing line and testing your fishing skills (crab pots available for your use). Contact Little River Seafood for the best crabs when you need more than you’ve caught. Want to make it a full on seafood buffet? - A Fishing charter is a must try. Captain Fisher at fishersbaycharters.com will have you reeling them in.
It is engaging in lawn games - cornhole, frisbee, badminton, disc golf, life size chess, and more. Book a Tee-time and play on a design winning golf course, or take a bike ride along the bi-ways to the free river ferry crossing and back.
It is relaxing on the back porch with a good read in your lap, dog by your side, while overlooking the serene and private water views. Overhead fans boosting the enveloping water breeze to keep you cool on a warm sunny day. Relax around the fire pit (firewood provided) making s’mores and memories. Enjoy a swing on the hammock while listening to the water lap the shoreline - is there anything more relaxing? Perhaps sipping on a favorite drink, think morning coffee or evening sweet tea on the dock as you watch your new world drift by.
It is an animated conversation in the deep seating Great room, preparing meals together in the kitchen, and playing board games or a cut-throat game of cards around the banquet sized dining table.
It is experiencing what the locals call home. Breath deep while you walk and picnic on the beach at Hughlett's Point, a birders heaven. Root through thrift shops, score an antique treasure, tour the wineries, or savor that perfectly built burger paired with a craft beer. Farmers markets on the weekends, dine at some of our favorites - Crazy Crab and Reedville Market both located in the beautiful fisherman's town of Reedville, as well as Horn Harbor just down the road in Burgess to name a few. We can tailor any special requests you just need to ask!
This is YOUR time to discover all the Northern neck has to offer. Memories are here to be made...by YOU...at UpYonda.
Let’s take a tour of the house! The second floor is your Master Suite with En/Suite bath - full shower, jacuzzi tub, and washer/dryer. Options include King OR 2 twins. Additional day bed and trundle available. This suite accommodates up to 4.
First floor hosts 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. Queen bed in one room with mini en-suite bathroom. Two twin beds in room across the hall. The full hall bathroom serves these two bedrooms.
Walk down the main hallway and enter into the Great Room. Complete with views of the water. Find cozy seating around the fireplace, or enjoy a family style meal at the hand made recycled barn wood farm table. Prepare just about anything in the fully stocked kitchen while taking in sweeping views of the water at every turn.
Walk seamlessly onto the entertainment sized covered rear porch where you will find overhead fans to keep you cool or wool throws to keep you warm when needed. Enjoy your coffee on the porch while watching the morning sun glisten over the water. Listen to the earth come to life and enjoy being a part of it.
Step down to the lower deck to grill fresh oysters, and enjoy various seating options that all overlook the water. To the left will be multiple kayaks equipped with oars and life vests. Various outdoor activities including, disc golf, bicycles, crab pots, and much much more. ALL COMPLIMENTARY for our guests. Look to the right and you can find the fire pit, hammock, and life size chess set.
OPTIONAL CABIN available when the weather is right (May through October) for reservations of groups over 6 - this is located to the left of the main house. Equipped with 2 twin beds and a window AC for the warmer nights. Enjoy a separate outdoor entrance and some extra privacy.
It's always a great time to be near water and you can't go wrong at UpYonda. Located within a stones throw of the Chesapeake Bay, if you bring your boat you'll be able to launch it from a local marina and tie it up at the house. We offer plenty of dock space and a 4' MLW at the end of the dock. Store your trailer in the secondary parking area to the side of the house.
We now offer high speed internet service with COMPLIMENTARY YouTube TV and Disney+. Our internet will accommodate multiple computers. Great for remote learning and/or working away from the office.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location.
We really enjoyed this place. From the moment you enter this house you can tell that it is well loved. It is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed, and more. We spent time on the porch, paddling kayaks, watching the herons.

Northern Neck get away
My sister and our spouses and children got away from DC for a long weekend. This place is a piece of paradise. We had six people in our group which is the right size for this house. We were outside almost the entire time, trying to fish/crab off the dock, sitting at the firepit, or going for a row in the numerous kayaks, canoe or paddle boat. Very peaceful neighborhood and we appreciated being able to bring our dog. Would highly recommended. Did not have any issues with the house and good communication with the owners. Well stocked kitchen. Full size W/D. Would love to see a hot tub for future visits.

A Little Slice of Heaven
We loved UpYonda! Erin and Mark are so nice and easy to communicate with. The home is beautiful and there really is everything you need there. The suite upstairs is beautiful and huge!! The view of the water is amazing and the wildlife was stunning. We saw a fox, Blue Heron and got video of an Otter rolling around in the snow on the dock! The stargazing is fantastic and we made a snowman. We loved it.

Our family enjoyed another amazing stay at UpYonda. The views of the water, night sky and sunset/sunrise were breathtaking. The fireplace made the home cozy and warm, especially with the cold winter air! We hope to come back soon!

perfect house
We came here for a 4 day weekend around the oyster festival. The house was perfect, the location was beautiful, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything you could possibly need and more. I would like to come back again during warm weather and take advantage of the kayaks and the dock.

Tranquility on the Water
We had an amazing time. The property was big enough for us and the being right on the water was like a dream. We stayed while the remnants of a hurricane came through so it was rather rainy, but the day the sun came out was the best! I think we barely left the dock. The dogs loved the trip as well. The life size chess/checkers was a huge bonus! We took a canoe ride and my yellow lab went for his first swim! We made so many amazing memories and the hosts were extremely communicative and timely. Every thing we needed was there (other than what you are supposed to bring, obviously!) I would like to see the listing updated with removal of the hot tub/life size jenga and that there is no laundry detergent provided as it is in the listing as well as to have the info book updated to reflect there are only 2 crab traps not three.

It was a wonderful relaxing site. Very clean house lots of activities truly outdoor fun. My son inlaw took every game out set them up and we played for days. We charted a boat in Reedville caught 40 fish and had a fish fry. Spent a day at local wineries, and just enjoyed each others company. We had a fire in the pit each night plenty of smores and pure relaxation. Every morning started with a cup of java on the dock. Our 3 night stay was perfect.

UpYonda
It is a beuatiful home in a secluded neighborhood. It was very quiet and relaxing. Crabbing off the dock was a big hit & brought in some crabs every day. The amenities were abundant, although one of the bikes was missing & there was only a jet tub inside, no hot tub outside like we thought but it wasn't anything we needed anyway. Having water outside to hose off sand or crud on the kayaks would have been nice as well but we made it work. We enjoyed taking our boat out on the river daily & even saw a couple of stingrays one day. It is definitely a place to go if you want to be away from crowds. We ended up going to Colonial Beach one day to swim, which was 1 1/2 hours away. It was a decent place to go.
Unfortunately, the beach close by to Reedville was very small, there were a lot of jellyfish and a lot of seaweed. Hughlett Point was amazing, very beautiful there and fun to explore. And, a cruise to Tangiere Island is a must. We were lucky enough on our cruise to see some commercial fishermen bringing in their haul. Compass Entertainment Center was a hit with our teens. We found that a lot of restaurants and shops open later in the week and there really isn't much to do anywhere nearby. All in all we had a wonderful trip. UpYonda was great. It was very clean, had beautiful views from the house and from the deck, had plenty of amenities, and the hosts were very responsive & helpful. We would definitely recommend UpYonda for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

Wonderful family getaway
We had a wonderful stay Up Yonda. The kids had plenty to do with fishing, crabbing, and outdoor games. We had a delicious meal at Horn Harbor, booked a fishing charter, and took the ride to Tangier Island. The many suggestions of local restaurants and activities was helpful. It was a trip where we made so many fun memories with our kids. Thank you so much.

Relaxing Getaway
Up Yonda did not disappoint. The house was beautiful, comfortable, and clean inside and out. We enjoyed fishing and crabbing right off the dock, the outdoor lawn games, and the fire pit. For the early riser, take your coffee down to one of the chairs on the dock and enjoy the sunrise. We enjoyed morning walks around the neighborhood, local wineries, exploring Kilmarnock, and took the cruise to Tangier Island. We always looked forward to returning to home base in the evening to sit outside and enjoy the property. It has something for everyone young and old alike.

The house was impeccably clean with lots of amenities on a beautiful spot. Check-in was simple. The house was nicely furnished. Our only suggestion would be to change the indoor lighting. The lamps and lighting was very dim and gave the house a very dark feeling after sunset.

Great place, great fun!
Mark and Erin’s home was delightful! Four adults and 1 child played either outside or in the entire time! We brought our boat and enjoyed beautiful weather on the river and the Bay. Crabbing, fishing, kayaking, biking to name a few outdoor activities. The outdoor games were great fun as well.
The inside of this home is well appointed, comfortable and fully equipped! The porch is awesome too.
Here’s how great it all was….. there were no Ipads open or iPhones used except to take pics!

Great stay
Our stay was great! Great view, quite and relaxing. The only thing I was disappointed with was that none of the local restaurants and shops open until Friday and most not until Friday night. We did find an amazing seafood supply store on Thursday (when it opened) to get seafood and cooked at home on Thursday and Friday. The house manager did a great job listing restaurants in the area but some are no longer in business and again most dont open until Friday afternoon or evening! I did leave notes in the book that was supplied for the next guest. Other than this...great stay!
