We spent four weeks during March at this most pleasant apartment in the village of San Michele di Pagana. San Michele is located about a 20 minute walk from Rapallo in one direction and a 15 minute walk from Santa Margherita Liguria in the opposite direction. The buses run every half hour in either direction. San Michele has several excellent restaurants along the shore line.There is a marvellous Catholic Church in the village.The apartment was as described, very comfortable and well maintained. Agata and Alberto were most pleasant to deal with. Alberto met us at the train station in Rapallo when we arrived and was kind enough to take us back .The apartment is on a hill above the main road. A stairway (over a 100 steps) connects the two. If you have mobility issues you will require a car and use the connecting roadway.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!John and Elaine

Perfect little apartment minutes away from Rapallo

A charming, authentic apartment in the most gorgeous area, this is very handy for the beach at San Michelle di Pagana and for Rapallo where you can also get the boat to San Fruttuoso. The owners were absolutely lovely and keen for us to enjoy the delights of the area. A real gem.

We really enjoyed our stay. Agata is an excellent host- really helpful and great with communication. The apartment is in a good location midway between Rapallo and Santa Margarita with a lovely view from the balcony and easy access to the beaches of St Michele. The communal living area is a bit small for four but the bedrooms are a good size and the apartment is well equipped with washing machine and drying rack, microwave and WiFi. We hope to be back!

Italian hospitality at its finest

And our family loved staying here, it is a short walk from the main street and beach with cafés and wine bars. A 15 minute walk in either direction will find you in Santa Margarita, or Rapallo, both are charming cities with lots of great food options, and beautiful Italian streets to explore. It was a great home base to visit Portofino, Camogli and Cinque Terre. Our hosts were as kind as can be And even provided us with wine and fresh fruit from their trees that were delicious. We hope to make it back again, and would love to stay here without hesitation.

Fantastic apartment

I just returned from spending two weeks in Agata and Alberto’s apartment in San Michele and it was a wonderful experience! Agata and Albeto were so great to work with, very helpful. Communication was quick and easy, they were wonderfully responsive! It was so helpful that they picked me up and dropped me off at the train station. That took a lot of stress off me, not being very familiar with the area. I also appreciated that they spent a lot of time with me showing me the apartment and explaining how things worked. The welcome gift of wine was most appreciated too! The apartment itself is lovely, sunny and spacious. The beds are comfortable and the showers always have good water pressure and lots of hot water. It was really nice to have a washing machine in the kitchen too. The star attraction though is the balcony! It’s fantastic with a beautiful view of the hills surrounding the village. I loved sitting out at night watching the lights and marvelling at how peaceful the area is! The apartment’s location is great, very easy to get places. San Michele is right between Rapallo and Santa Margherita, so going to either town for dinner or sightseeing takes almost no time. The bus service is very efficient and frequent. You can also walk to either town in less than 30 minutes. The apartment is in the hills so there’s some climbing to do every day. There’s a set of 135 steps from the village, but you can also walk the road instead. The apartment elevator was appreciated.

charming place with wonderful hosts

Agata and Jerry we so helpful and provide a very nice apartment and a great location. The picked us up at the train station and Jerry took us back for our departure train 9 days later. The apartment is very clean, comfortable and in a quiet location. A 10 minute walk to the bus station gave us good access to neighboring towns. We bought week long bus tickets for $21 each that took us everywhere we wanted to go - Rapallo, Santa Margherita, and Porafino. If you don't have a vehicle the walk to the bus and nearby beach includes 130 steps down to the road below. We did not mind as it helped keep us in shape. Highly recommend and would stay there again. Thanks so much to our friendly, accomodating hosts Agata and Jerry!

Such a great experience,absolutely amazing and great hosts Agata and Alberto. Their apartment very clean and well equipped for everything you need! Nice balcony with beautiful view,we had breakfast,lunch and dinner on this balcony!Comfortable bed. Good location to explore nearby city’s like Portofino,Santa Margarita,Rapallo,Cince Terre. Santa margarita 25 min by foot,rapallo is 25 min by foot.Portofino is 6km from the property. We stayed 5 days but it’s not enough.Next time would like to stay at list 8-9 nights) Thank you Agata and Alberto for our great experience,and for your hospitality!

Alberto and Agata were very friendly and welcoming in letting us know about the area and what to do. The flat is very comfortable with a fabulous view from the balcony. Parking was available nearby and the beach was a ten minute walk away downhill - the only disadvantage is the walk uphill coming back! The wine and fruit left for us on arrival were a very pleasant touch.

We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment. The owners, Agata and Alberto are a lovely couple. They were very eager to make sure we had everything we needed and gave us lots of information about places to visit. The apartment is in a good, quiet location, but only a few minutes walk into the local village of San Michele. There are a number of small beaches and a couple of restaurants as well as a small supermarket/delicatessen. It takes about 25 minutes to walk to Santa Margherita and 20 minutes to Rapallo, both well worth a visit. There is also a good bus service if you prefer not to walk.We also got the bus to Portofino from Santa Margherita and the ferry back, which was great. The trains are also good and we went from Rapallo to Camogli one day and to the Cinque Terre on another day. The apartment is very comfortable, including the bed, and the kitchen is well equipped. The weather was hot whilst we were there, but the apartment didn't get too hot and we slept very well with the windows open. It was lovely to sit out on the balcony having breakfast, admiring the view. Thank you, Agata and Alberto, it was a pleasure to meet you and to stay in your apartment.

Nice apartment, good location

Agata and Alberto were very friendly and welcoming to their lovely two bedroom, two bathroom apartment that also has an elevator. We had fun talking with them. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony that has a great view of homes dotting the mountain, and drinking coffee or a glass of wine and eating walnuts or grapes that they brought from their garden. The WiFi worked perfectly. We did not use the kitchen to cook meals but it is well equipped and there is a full size refrigerator. A large grocery store with free parking is close by in Rapallo. The apartment has a parking space. It is about a half hour walk to either St. Margherita or Rapallo and the San Michele di Pagana beach is just a short walk. The whole area has very good bus, boat and train service. According to the local tourist office, the Cinque Terre trails were closed for safety reasons and the area has become very crowded. We drove to Camogli (20 minutes) and Sestrie Levante (30 minutes) which were beautiful and not at all crowded. We enjoyed our week and would recommend this apartment to anyone visiting the area.

Sehr schön gelegene, ruhige Wohnung mit viel Platz für eine Familie, komfortabel dank zweier Bäder. Vom Balkon aus hat man einen wunderschönen Blick auf die umliegenden Berge mit den Villen. Für das Auto gibt es einen eigenen Stellplatz. Zum Strand sind es nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß, auch nach Rapallo und nach S. Margherita kann man gut laufen. Agata und Alberto haben uns sehr freundlich empfangen.Die Lage der Wohnung ist ideal für Ausflüge auf die Halbinsel von Portofino, auch der Bahnhof von S. Margherita ist zu Fuß zu erreichen, so dass man auch ohne Auto weitere Orte erkunden kann.Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Ruhige Wohnlage, Zuglärm gering, laute Hochzeit in der Nachbarschaft, Alarmanlagen, Hundegebell, Hahnengeschrei, Motorräder. Technische Defizite: zu wenige und unterschiedliche Steckdosen, defekte Lichtschalter, Wackelkontakt am WLAN. Mikrowelle (ohneGrill) musste zum Kochen auf den Küchentisch gestellt werden, weil der Platz auf der Küchenzeile nicht ausreichte, Gasbackofen, Kaffeemaschine war ein Espressoaufbereiter (cilio classico, Cucina dimoderna…). Keine Kaffeekanne.Wackelige Stühle, Matratze und Kopfkissen riechen nach Schweiss, Matratzenfedern gebrochen. Grosser guter Kühlschrank, getrenntes grosses Gefrierfach. Gurkenschäler fehlt. Wäscheständer alt und erneuerungsbedürftig. Nur 1 Badetuch, Waschmaschine mit geringer Schleuderdrehzahl vorhanden. Viele alte künsthistorischen Bücher engen den Platz der Küche ein.
